When we are stressed, our bodies release cortisol. It is helpful in short bursts, but when stress lingers, those levels can stay high and leave us feeling tense, tired, irritable or overwhelmed.

The beautiful thing is that mindfulness gives the body a signal that it is safe to slow down. When we gently bring our attention to the breath, we activate the relaxation response. Heart rate softens. Muscles begin to release. Thoughts become a little less loud. ๐Ÿ’›

And it does not have to be complicated.

Just 10 minutes of simple breath awareness can make a real difference. No special equipment. No perfect posture. Just you and your breath.

Here is a gentle way to try it today
Sit somewhere comfortable.
Close your eyes if that feels safe.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breathing.
Feel the air moving in and out.

It is a gentle reminder that small actions can create real shifts in how we feel.

Here is a simple practice to try today. Stand in front of a mirror and smile at yourself for 10 seconds. Yes, really. Even if it feels awkward. Even if you end up laughing at how strange it feels. Especially then. ๐Ÿ˜„

Notice what comes up.
Do you feel silly?
Do you soften a little?
Do you hear your inner critic trying to comment?

So often, we move through our days on autopilot. We react instead of respond. We criticise ourselves without even realising. We rush past our own needs because there is always something else to do.
