Post-natal checks for New Mums

Support for you, if you have...
- concerns about your caesarean scar
- concerns about the shape of your abdominal area / overhang
- concerns you may have abdominal muscle separation (Diastasis recti)
- concerns you are not recovering well post delivery.
- concerns / queries about exercising post birth.

The post-natal check is wide-ranging and covers posture, a diastasis recti check, an external pelvic floor assessment, an examination of caesarean section scars and the abdominal wall.

Check-ups can be carried out from six weeks post-partum, whether you have had an assisted (e.g. Caesarean) or non-assisted birth, and you will be provided with an exercise aftercare plan and advice on how to care for your caesarean scar.

Osteopath Cathy Travis is qualified to provide post-natal checks thanks to additional training in ‘Natal Foundations’ with Everything Natal (for more information see their website: www.everythingnatal.com).

Before carrying out your post-natal check, Cathy will take a history of your general health and fitness, with questions about your pregnancy, your birth experience and any complications which might have arisen from either of these.

Cathy is available at our Mickleover Centre on a Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.
