That’s it.

Benedict’s Law is law.

It’s been agreed, read in, and will now be written into the statute book.

We did this.

Even when we were told guidance would be enough — and it was strong — we knew it didn’t go far enough. We kept going. We pushed for more. Because this was always about getting it right, not just getting it done.

To be here today, hearing Benedict’s name spoken in Parliament, surrounded by our family, his young friends and the people who have stood with us through all of this, is something we will never forget.

This is the first time allergy has been recognised in primary legislation. It means these protections won’t be optional, they won’t depend on postcode or budget — they will be the law.

Benedict's Law. Allergy policies. Allergy training. Allergy pens. In EVERY school. Just as we have always said it should be.

Nothing will ever change what we lost. But today, his name has changed something for others.

And we are so proud of that.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in this journey.

CPR is on the curriculum, so why are so many students missing out?

2025 research shows that nearly 4 in 10 UK secondary school students say they haven’t received CPR training in school.

We’re calling on governments and local authorities to follow through on their commitments by improving support for schools and introducing systems to track CPR education, so every student gets the lifesaving skills they deserve.

Schools move a step forward in allergy safe... this September, read more.....

This morning, the world woke up one step closer to allergy-safe schools.

From September, Benedict’s Law will begin to take effect, following confirmation that the Department for Education will introduce mandatory statutory guidance on allergy safety in schools. This means schools will be expected, under law, to put in place the protections children with allergies need.

Alongside this, peers in the House of Lords voted last night to approve an amendment to the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, opening the door to legal enforcement and funding to embed these measures in legislation.

Together, these two developments mark the strongest progress yet toward making sure parents and children can walk into school knowing allergy safety is no longer optional — and that Benedict’s legacy is becoming reality.

A new record for Derby Mountain Rescue Team

Happy New Year . Like a number of Mountain Rescue England and Wales teams across the country, 2025 was by far our busiest ever year with 99 callouts.
