Pathogens don't take a break over Christmas. Many practices will close for a certain amount of time over Christmas and New Year. Remember that all surfaces should be cleaned and disinfected after the final session and again before the first session back. Treatment centres/dental chairs must be decommissioned and recommissioned correctly and DUWLs should be cleaned using a ready-to-use disinfectant such as Bioclear to minimise the risk of biofilm formation.

Did you know? The kitchen item that harbours the most bacteria is the dishcloth! According to a study commissioned by the Global Hygiene Council, 60% of dishcloths were found to be contaminated with e. coli, with other cloths in the kitchen often being similarly germ-laden. With all the cooking, cleaning and washing-up that Christmas entails, don’t let a dirty dishcloth spoil the fun! To help keep your cloths clean: *Use separate cloths for the dishes, floor, drying hands and other surfaces *Put washing-up brushes in the dishwasher regularly *Wash your cloths regularly at 60 degrees or above. A quick reminder to all members of Dentisan's Clean Water Club that the Dentisan offices and laboratory will close for the Christmas break on 22nd December and reopen on 2nd January. No dip slide assessments will take place during this time. Our Clean Water Club dip slide assessment will resume as normal from Friday 2 January 2026.

A quick reminder of Dentisan’s closing dates over the Christmas break. The Dentisan Field Team will be taking a well-earned break and will not be available after Friday 19 December until we’re back and ready for action on Monday 5 January 2026. Dentisan Customer Service will be closed from Monday 22 December until Friday 2 January 2026. Meanwhile, Dentisan manufacturing will cease from Friday 19 December when the factory will undergo a deep clean before we start producing product again in the New Year.
