Congratulations Stuart.

🎉 Celebrating Stuart’s 15 years with us🚗🖤

We are delighted to celebrate Stuart, our full‑time hearse driver at Derby, who has been part of our family company since 2011.

Originally from East London, Stuart began his career working with a funeral director specialising in Greek funerals and repatriations. He brought that experience to our team (no wonder he always requests halloumi at the Derby cheese nights!)

Stuart has become well‑known for his sense of humour, reliability and his daily care of the Derby fleet, including the hearse converted from Simon Cowell’s former car. When it first joined the fleet, Stuart’s involvement even made the national papers, and he’s driven it ever since.

Stuart, thank you for your dedication and the professionalism you bring to every funeral you support. We are proud to have you as part of the Derby team. 👏

Well done Greg

Over the past few years, several of our colleagues missed the chance to attend National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) conferences to collect their certificates in person. Determined that these achievements should still be celebrated, Nigel, drawing on his experience as a former NAFD President, has been personally delivering these long-overdue certificates.

Greg was one of those colleagues. Having passed his Diploma in March 2025.

Greg joined the company in 2023, bringing with him a strong background in education, as well as funeral experience. Originally from The Black Country, Greg now calls Derby home and applies his knowledge and professionalism every day to support families in their time of need.

For help at any time over the Christmas period, please call your local funeral home, as usual, and your call will be transferred to one of our local staff.

We have duty Funeral Directors available at all times to visit families by appointment, or to give advice by telephone.

🕊️ At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

At 11am this Remembrance Sunday, we pause, along with people across the nation, to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country.

As we observe the two minutes’ silence, we share this moving rendition of The Last Post, performed by our colleague Colum.

His performance serves as a tribute to the bravery, dedication and selflessness of all who have served both past and present.

We will remember them.

A. W. Lymn Family Funeral Service will collect the cremated remains from the crematorium and can hold them for up to one month. We are also able to provide a selection of scatter tubes

Close family members are offered the opportunity to witness charge, giving families a chance to be present during the final stages of a loved one's cremation.

We offer Sikh and Hindu families the opportunity to take the coffin home and/or to the temple prior to the cremation service, so that family and friends are able to attend to show their respects.

We offer ritual washing facilities at Littleover and Derby branches, so families can bathe and dress their loved ones in clean clothing.

This week we are celebrating the Sikh and Hindu community who work so closely with us to arrange the funerals of their loved ones.
We offer Sikh and Hindu packages tailored to the needs of the community, designed to prove the essential services for the funeral while ensuring that religious and cultural traditions are respected.
