Good morning! I hope you had a good weekend, and that those of you with children or grandchildren are enjoying the prospect of two weeks in which you have to entertain them...
We had a lovely time at the Sefton Medical Committee's annual dinner. It was gratifying to hear that we have a very good reputation amongst local healthcare professionals because of the way that we work. Historically, private GP care has had a bad reputation amongst doctors because of the sector's tendency to promote non-evidence-based treatments (like giving Kenalog injections for hayfever, even though there's an international consensus statement by allergy experts saying that you shouldn't). We are proud to be breaking that mould and offering good, ethical, evidence-based medicine.
It's looking like a busy week at Formby GP - Dr John was going to be fully booked today, so we've added some extra appointment slots at the end of his clinic. At the time of writing, these are still available. I currently only have one appointment left tomorrow - I can extend my clinic a bit if needed, but not indefinitely, because tomorrow afternoon Dr Louise the menopause expert is using our clinic room (and she, too, is fully booked - you're seeing the theme here...). As ever, if you need to see a GP but can't find a suitable appointment slot online, drop us an email (clinical@formbygp.net) and we'll do our best to fit you in.
