Back to the NHS today after using up the last of my annual leave.

Over the last few weeks, we have been very busy offering more fully booked clinic days at Foot & Leg Clinic, celebrating our beautiful friends wedding, doggy holidays, and a city break to Budapest (which is where this historic picture was taken).

Tubular foam is one of my favourite podiatry devices. It’s inexpensive, easy to use, and highly effective.

One of my lovely patients with rheumatoid arthritis has found it particularly helpful. However, she sometimes forgets which way it should be applied. To make things easier, we painted a small “nail” on the foam as a visual guide so she can quickly remember the correct orientation.

While travelling through the Highlands, we stayed in some beautifully cosy, homely cabins. One in particular had a charming vintage feel, complete with original newspapers from 1940–1944.

They were filled with wartime headlines, clever tips on stretching rations, light-hearted comic strips, and short love stories. Naturally, I couldn’t resist hunting down the foot-related adverts.

The advice was a world away from what NICE guidelines and modern research recommend today, but fascinating all the same… 🤔👣

WE ARE BACK..👣✨

Feeling refreshed after a much-needed break in the stunning Scottish Highlands, I was back at school today where we were visited by lots of rescue animals.

This evening, we have a full clinic with five patients, covering routine appointments, MSK assessments, and a toenail reconstruction.

I love my job!

We’ll be responding to all messages, DMs, and emails over the weekend.
