When world events or your daily life weighs heavily on you, it is highly recommended that you find room to breathe, walk, drink in fresh sea air...and enjoy peace.
Is there anywhere better for all that, than the beach at St Annes on Sea?

A fabulous community and visitor festival of family fun in the new event space in St Annes on Sea.
Performers and audience were from across all ages, and joined in with a great range of FREE activities. Or enjoyed live music and comedy in the fresh air.
Well done to the organisers of Fylde Fest, for bringing JOY to so many.
📷 KC Photography thank you!

Clocks go forward one hour this weekend.
It would be great if the current developers of this iconic building in St Annes on Sea turned this clock 'back' to working!

This is a GREAT weekend to visit St Annes on Sea and Fairhaven, or plan some family time if you live here.
On Saturday (28th), the boat service resumes on Fairhaven Lake, and Sunday (11am - 4pm) brings an exciting Open Day there with a chance to sample all sorts of leisure stuff. The new information centre will be officially opened too.
Also Saturday, the FREE Fylde Fest returns to the event space in the Square at St Annes, with live music, dancing, football, gardening, baking, skateboarding, gaming and all sorts of other family entertainment. All 12pm to 4pm.
After a long hard winter, let's get out as a community and have some FUN!

St Annes on Sea has a windmill too now!
Our sister town of Lytham is famous for its full-sized historic structure.
But ours is beautifully handcrafted by the talented folk who attend classes at Bonney Fabrics & Wool.
It's on St Andrews Road South, with lots of other great shops and places to eat in St Annes.

Have you visited the Peace and Happiness Garden, by the Pier in St Annes on Sea?
It's beautifully maintained by volunteers from St Annes in Bloom and features tributes to famous folk who have lived locally.
This area has been a sunken garden in the past (see 1910 postcard) and a sandblown mess a few years later!

What an amazing image of the Ribble Estuary, and our sister town of Lytham!
For all the confusion about names, and friendly (mostly) rivalry, we are so blessed to have all this on our doorstep.
And walking from St Annes on Sea, passed Fairhaven and onwards to the windmill in Lytham, is truly wonderful.
Thank you KC Photography

This beautiful house on Clifton Drive North has intrigued countless visitors and residents. It's listed in the council's heritage assets, but there seems to be limited information.
A gracious Queen Anne style villa, it first appears on local maps in 1911. The roof balcony is possibly a 'widow's walk' where a wife would look out for the return of her seagoing husband.
The belief is that its original name was Colunio, the Roman version of Colne, as it was owned by a wealthy cotton manufacturer from there. It's also been referred to as Fairlawn and Lancaster House.
It is a private residence, and appears to have had a ballroom at one stage. When turned into three flats, one is believed to have been rented to celebrities performing on this coast...including The Beatles!
It's understood the current owners have restored it back to one, stunning residence.
Who else is fascinated by this building?

Where is Biscuit's Ball Box, and Where is Beachcomberstannes?
To get to both, park in North Beach car park. Or, walking along this glorious stretch of coastline, look for marker Number 7.
(It's also where you will find the Windsports Centre and HM Coastguard Lytham station.)

Wow - we really do have some incredibly talented people locally. That certainly includes the award-winning artist Kathryn Alice.
She spent six months researching and creating a gloriously detailed narrative illustration, spanning from Fleetwood to Lytham, filled with iconic buildings, nods to the area's rich heritage and cultural references.
