Very grateful to have been invited by to be a guest tutor on next year’s Walking and Yoga Retreat in Coniston in March 2026.

This annual retreat, now in its 36th year, offers an uplifting and nourishing few days away in early spring enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the Lake District.

There’s a choice of Yoga or meditation before breakfast, then a choice of two workshops in the morning and another two in the afternoon.

I’ll be teaching two daily sessions combining Yoga and Ayurveda, beginning with a guided Full Moon Meditation and Restorative Yoga class on the Tuesday evening (3rd March) which just happens to be a full moon 🌕

My other workshops will be:-

🌷Introducing Ayurveda, Yoga’s Sister Science
🌷Dinacharya - The Ayurvedic Daily Self-Care Routine
🌷Ritucharya - The Seasonal Routine & Moving Gently into Spring
🌷Ojas - Supporting Your Natural Immunity

After dinner there will further optional activities including talks, guided relaxation and live music.

There’ll also be the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature all around you by joining a longer or shorter guided walk with experienced leaders who are part of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Group and know the area very well.

All activities are optional so instead of a workshop or walk you may prefer instead to potter around Coniston Village, visit Brantwood or relax in the Grade II listed building where the retreat is hosted.

I grew up in London of Irish parents and every summer we visited our family on the rural west coast.

I was in my element roaming the fields and meadows around my grandparents’ houses and was always trying to identify the names of the plants and trees I came across. I also remember from a very young age having a love of natural medicine and a thirst to learn as much as I could about the healing properties of plants and flowers.

It is this connection to Nature that, after many career twists and turns, eventually brought me home to Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is a rich and sophisticated system of health and wellbeing which tells us that we are one with and a part of Nature and, further, that by maintaining as much balance with Nature as possible, we will enjoy true health of our body, mind, spirit and emotions. This is called swasthasya in Sanskrit.

Recognising this and using the daily routines, an understanding of the doshas of Vata, Pitta and Kapha, protecting our digestive fire, using Ayurvedic herbs, and integrating Yoga practices into our life can all to help restore balance and can be truly transformational.

Interested to learn more?

This is a rare opportunity to learn the foundations of this thousands-of-years-old practice that will transform your health, relationships and your life.

Recent events have meant that I have needed to reschedule the start date for my next 6 month online Ayurveda module.

The first meeting is on Saturday 29 November and it’s not too late to sign up. Please message me for a prospectus and/or more details 💕

Every woman’s experience of the menopause is unique but, despite the differences, all women have one thing in common - the need for support especially when symptoms are severe.

If you are looking to treat the menopause naturally, the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda can be a powerful combination to give you the support you need during this time of transition.

I’m qualified in both and have curated a Menopause Support Package to help you navigate the many changes menopause brings, as well as manage and ease many of its unpleasant symptoms.

This begins with an in-depth, one-hour private consultation following which I prepare a bespoke therapy plan for you to follow for one month. It includes both Yoga and Ayurveda.

The first part consists of simple Yoga sequences, breathing techniques and relaxation practices to help you to manage menopausal symptoms such as insomnia, fatigue, joint pain, lower back pain, headaches, hot flushes, anxiety and mood swings.

The second part consists of Ayurvedic nutrition, herbs and lifestyle advice to help balance hormones, manage weight gain, bloating, digestive problems, fatigue and depression.

The package also includes:
* Two 30-minute follow-up sessions which provide an opportunity to assess your progress and make any further suggestions that may be needed;
* Up to three Ayurvedic herbs;
* Recording of a Menopause Yoga practice.

If you are interested, please message me for more details/to book today.

What I stand for is health ☀️

It’s my foundation and I encourage it to be yours too.

Without our health, it’s much more challenging to be there for our family, our friends, our community, to run our business, live up to our potential, realise our dharma, travel, and do the things that bring us joy.

Some health conditions come with significant challenges and can take a long time to overcome but many of the clients I see are experiencing chronic conditions such as digestive problems, dermatitis, acne, insomnia, hair loss, joint pain, and fatigue, problems which are easier to address using the wisdom and tools of Ayurveda.

With conditions such as these, small daily changes practised consistently can bring about significant improvements.

These include more conscious food choices based on the principles of Ayurveda, time in nature, proper hydration, tuning into natural rhythms especially around sleep, balancing Yogic breathing practices, Ayurvedic herbs and supplements, specific relaxation techniques, and regular exercise for mobility and strength.

It all begins with a full consultation with me at my home studio after which I prepare a bespoke therapy plan for you and then regular follow ups to check your progress as well as my ongoing support.

It’s worked for 100s of clients and it can work for you too.

If health matters to you, you’re in the right place. Message me today 🙏

The biggest mistake I see people making is over-complicating their wellbeing routine ✨

In fact, I believe that health actually begins with a simplified daily routine and is the result of all the little decisions we make every single day ✨✨

Simple tweaks like morning tongue scraping, avoiding faulty food combinations, and swopping cold and iced drinks for warm liquids really can make all the difference 💛

Fast forward four months.

How do you want to feel in December?

Tired, heavy, overwhelmed and mentally foggy?

Or lighter, energised, stronger, more balanced and finally empowered about your health?

If you are ready to re-connect with how well you can feel, DM me today ✨Image thanks to

About Me.

Hi I’m Brenda. Welcome to my page. I qualified with the British Wheel in 2004 and since then have been teaching yoga in Lytham St Annes in Lancashire to people of all ages and abilities. Yes, this includes beginners yoga too.

I honestly have loved every single minute of it. For me, the yoga mat is a place where we can gently switch off from the outside world and recharge both physically and mentally.

As a result of Covid-19, I now run my daily yoga classes online. I also run fabulous yoga and wellness retreats on the Amalfi Coast, teach children’s yoga and mindfulness classes and host regular health and wellness workshops offering people practical ways to improve their health and wellbeing. More recently, I have also started running a yoga foundation course for those who want to deepen their knowledge and/or are thinking about teaching themselves.

For more details of my online classes or any of my yoga courses or events, please contact me on brendayoga@mail.com or visit my website at www.brendayoga.co.uk
