We finished our Connect Community Choir season with a gentle, meaningful morning of singing at The Harbour here in Blackpool.
The Harbour is a place that quietly and compassionately supports people through mental health challenges, offering care, dignity and steadiness at times when life feels heavy. Christmas, for many of us, can stir up all sorts of feelings, and we know it isn’t always an easy season.
This is why Singing for Creative Health matters so much to us. Singing together breaks isolation, builds personal resilience, and supports mental health, not by fixing or rescuing, but by showing up, breathing together, listening, and connecting. It’s one of the real highlights of our year.
We loved forming a little mini staff choir, the Harbour team were absolutely fabulous, warm, and generous, and it was a joy to sing alongside them. And just as important was what came after: mince pies, hot drinks, and time to chat, laugh, and properly connect. That shared space after the singing, where people can mix, talk, and simply be human together really matters, especially at Christmas.
A big thank you to everyone at The Harbour for welcoming us so openly, and to our Connect singers who continue to show how music can hold us through the difficult moments we all face in life.
Ending the season this way felt just right 🎶
