Soft Tissue Release (STR) is a hands-on technique used by sports therapists to reduce muscle tension and restore pain free movement.

What It Does:

✅ Helps reduce muscle tension & pain
✅ Improves flexibility & mobility
✅ Breaks down adhesions in soft tissue
✅ Boosts circulation & recovery
✅ Helps prevent future injuries

How It Works:

1️⃣ Lock: Firm pressure is applied to the muscle at a specific point, fixing the muscle in position.
2️⃣ Stretch: The muscle is moved through its range of motion
3️⃣ Release: The tension eases, and normal movement returns

STR = Freedom to Move Better, Feel Better, Perform Better!

Do you feel such a technique would benefit yourself? If so comment, DM or text 07725692679 to book an appointment.

Tight Muscles? They Might Just Be Weak.

Most people think tight muscles need more stretching, but often they need strengthening.

When a muscle is weak, it struggles to do its job. Other muscles step in to help, creating that “tight” or “stiff” feeling.

By getting stronger, your muscles become more efficient, your joints move better, and that tension starts to fade.

✅ Strength doesn’t make you tighter — it helps you move better.
✅ Strong muscles = better control, less stiffness and more mobility.

Next time something feels tight, don’t just stretch it — strengthen it.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had several conversations with clients who are still being told that pain always equals damage, or that repeated treatments alone will “fix” their pain.

Unfortunately, scaremongering and passive care are still common in healthcare. This can leave patients feeling fearful, dependent, and without the tools they need to move forward.

The truth is, chronic pain after injury is real, but it doesn’t always mean ongoing harm. Education and empowerment are just as important as treatment.

That’s why I put together this simple guide for clients living with chronic pain — to help explain what’s happening in the body, reassure that movement is safe, and encourage self-confidence in recovery.

💡 Hopefully, it will bring clarity and reassurance to those who need it most.
