Common Sense Media surveyed more than 1,000 adolescent boys across the country on subjects like the material they see online, where they find community, what they do to fit in, and how it all makes them feel. The results are complicated, compelling, and occasionally concerning. Read the report:

From social media to gaming, apps, and more, adolescent boys spend hours each day online. Our new research reveals how this relates to their identities, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Men's role in family life is changing and this can be a marvellous as well as a challenging experience. MensCraft co-founder and father of some 40 years, Andy Wood, and his colleague Thom Bailey explore this in a theatre workshop format called The Life of Dads, on Saturday 8 November at Norwich Theatre - part of its Shape of the Family: Fatherhood season. Andy says:

"Our aim is to give dads a chance to reflect upon and to process the experience and to share that with other dads. We do this in the safety of a closed group with us, seasoned facilitators, and using the dramatic space as our medium. You don't need to know or have any experience of theatre or drama. We're not going to 'create a piece of theatre' for public consumption. We use drama to create short vignettes which show good and bad experiences. When the protagonist watches part of his story acted back to him, it can create a level of distance which allows him to reflect upon and integrate that experience better."

Join Andy and Thom, 11am - 4pm on Saturday 8th November. Tickets are just £10 and available direct from Norwich Theatre:

A five-hour interactive workshop, using the Theatre of Self-Expression, to explore the theme of modern fatherhood, focussing on participants and their experience of becoming and being fathers

After two completely sold-out performances last year, MATT returns by popular demand — now touring venues across Norfolk and Suffolk. Based on the real-life story of writer, director and lead actor Peter Dewar, MATT is a raw, real and thought-provoking journey through depression, addiction and the fight to survive. It dives headfirst into the darkness — unflinching, emotionally charged, and painfully honest.

But this is more than just Matt’s story. It’s also about the devastating impact mental illness can have on the people who love him — the partner left in silence, the parents consumed by fear and helplessness.

Praised as “brutally honest,” “a masterpiece of resilience,” and “unforgettable,” MATT is a powerful, emotional, and ultimately hopeful piece of theatre that dares to speak the truth.
One night. One fight. One story that stays with you. Last year’s tickets sold out fast — book now to avoid missing out.
Over 18s only – contains mature and emotionally intense themes.

Members and staff from MensCraft wanting to attend the Norwich show on 30th October can get a 20% discount for group bookings of five or more.

Find Magic in the Mess: Men’s Yoga for the Human Condition

This is a collaboration between MensCraft and Freedom Wellbeing, led by Jackie Heffer-Cooke.

This is not about flexibility or fitness. It's about understanding your nervous system and applying tools that genuinely help us to reset, recalibrate and rediscover our centre - especially in times of stress, overwhelm or disconnection.

The workshop is accessible, open to all men, evidence-based and highly practical. No previous yoga experience is needed. It's designed for men navigating life’s many pressures - whether that’s work, fatherhood, grief, identity, or simply the messiness of being human.

"How do you know you make a difference?" The men we work with tell us and the change can be profound, just as it was for John. Seven years of crippling anxiety and social isolation from a traumatic past. But by engaging with MensCraft, slowly but surely, John's life started to open up. The defences came down. He found the strength to be vulnerable. By listening without judgement and connecting him with others, he found meaning and purpose. But don't take it from us - lend John your ears.

We all know the value to our mental and physical health of spending time in nature and making connections. The Men’s Woodland Project is a weekely programme, on Tuesdays in October and November, offering men an opportunity to do just that.

Activities will include green woodworking, cooking over an open hearth, mindfulness, forest bathing, guided walks in the woods. But most of all, the Project offers the opportunity to connect. We focus on building trust and support for one another by eating together and telling our stories around an open fire.
