Celebrating our March … Kate 🌟

Yoga was completely new to Kate a year ago - it took one guest pass class, followed by our two-week trial, and she was hooked. Since then she’s fallen in love with the studio, the heat, the teachers, and that special Yantra feeling of lining up side by side… finding drishti, remembering to breathe, and showing up together.

Kate loves the intensity of the hot classes, but she’s also been surprised by the quiet strength of restorative practice too: “Our days are pushy enough… a slower, more restful pace is medicinal. Who knew hugging a bolster could be so powerful?”

A year on, she feels stronger, steadier, and more focused - in body and mind, and we love hearing how practice has supported her in ways she didn’t expect.

Alongside yoga, Kate works locally as a holistic massage therapist, offering slow, rhythmic, grounding sessions designed to help the body move from tension into rest, working intuitively with the physical body and nervous system.

Thank you, Kate, for bringing your warmth and your presence into the space - we’re so glad you found Yantra 🤍

Yantra takes its name from sacred geometric maps of energy and awareness. The Sri Yantra - a symbol of balance, wholeness, and the meeting of strength and softness - feels like a beautiful reflection of what we practise here every day: showing up, listening in, building resilience, and supporting one another through the seasons of life.

To the women of Yantra: thank you for your skill, your care, your humour, your courage, and the way you hold space - on and off the mat. 💛

What if flexibility isn’t just about muscles?

Modern bodies are under constant tension - sitting, driving, training, pushing for deeper shapes. And yet so many people still feel stiff, restricted, or oddly disconnected.

That’s because mobility isn’t just muscular.

Are you a yoga teacher (or trainee) who wants to feel more confident using touch as a teaching tool - but your 200hr left you a bit unsure where to start?

You’re not alone. Many teacher trainings don’t go deep into adjustments and assists, which can leave you either avoiding touch altogether or second-guessing every hand placement.

That’s why Abby is bringing back Adjustments & Assists (Part 1 & 2) - a practical CPD designed to help you assist with more clarity, confidence and care. Expect a consent-led approach, body reading (real bodies, not perfect shapes), smart biomechanics, and plenty of time to practise and troubleshoot.

Abby is Yantra’s founder and an experienced yoga elder with many years of teaching and mentoring behind her. Rooted in the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition (where assists are a primary way of communicating), and qualified in deep tissue and Thai Yoga Massage, she brings a rare blend of technical skill, bodywork knowledge, and compassionate guidance to this training.
