Rainbow Hub Rainbow Hub is a charity whose diverse services are brightening the lives of disabled children.

Rainbow Hub promotes independence and achievement for both children and young people, through the philosophy and practice of Conductive Education. This is a holistic educational system using repetitive physical activities incorporating rhythm, song and phrases to help young people with neurological conditions and brain injury carry out simple movements. Conditions include cerebral palsy, Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), Williams Syndrome, Moebius Syndrome, Downs Syndrome during the early years and acquired brain injury. It can also benefit individuals who do not have a diagnosis and those with global developmental delay, genetic conditions and other physical disabilities.

It was so lovely to see Rosie and Pete Simpson today while they are back home in the area visiting. We owe them a huge thank you for their ongoing support of Rainbow Hub! For many years now, they have helped us with our Christmas Tree Collection 🎄and today they surprised us by bringing a kind donation, a raffle prize, and even chocolate oranges and hand-knitted Christmas covers to help us raise vital funds. We are so grateful for their friendship and support 🙌

A 'small world moment' happened (while in Turkey!) when their good friends Janet and Halil, saw the Christmas covers, heard the story of why Rosie was busy knitting and realised the connection - that their son, Baris, was a former Rainbow Hub service user!

They shared how Rainbow Hub had helped him as a child, teaching simple techniques that made a real difference in his life 💫

Rosie has proudly shared with us today "Baris has completed his university course and is a bright young mathematician with a wicked sense of humour - all thanks to the early support he received from Rainbow Hub!" 🤩

Stories like this remind us why our work is not just amazing—it can be life-changing ❤🌈

Today, we'd like to celebrate Loui, who has been making great progress in our communication sessions! He has been working on making choices between two real objects of reference - and recently, he chose a book 📚
He then spent a wonderful ten minutes exploring it, fully engaged 🥰🤩

This was a lovely shared focus activity, and it’s fantastic to see how Loui is developing his attention and concentration while also continuing to build his vocabulary✨🌈

Our little ones have been working so hard in their session this week 🥰 learning those all-important independent life skills 🌈🩷

Their focus lately has been dressing themselves! 🧣 🧢

You’ll notice they are all wrapped up in hats and scarves and, of course, sporting oversized Rainbow Hub t-shirts! 😄🌈
The tops are on the larger side right now because it makes it easier for those tiny arms to find their way through those big holes in the early stages of learning 😂🥰

As their skills grow, the t-shirts will “shrink” and the challenge will gently increase - and we can’t wait to see their progress. We are SO proud of their efforts 💛

It’s truly wonderful to watch their confidence develop as they learn to get themselves ready independently 🌟

Our Story

A Brighter Place

Families are right at the heart of Rainbow Hub. Based in Mawdesley, Lancashire, we’re a charity providing therapeutic services for children and young people with physical disabilities as a result of a neurological condition or brain injury.

We are now supporting over 100 families per week, helping children to reach their full potential and gain more independence through fun, hands-on activities, while giving their parents the vital support they deserve.

No other organisation offers such a diverse range of services aimed at improving the physical, social and emotional well-being of children with complex needs, as well as reducing the stress and isolation in their families.
