Rainbow Hub

Rainbow Hub Rainbow Hub is a charity whose diverse services are brightening the lives of disabled children.

Rainbow Hub promotes independence and achievement for both children and young people, through the philosophy and practice of Conductive Education. This is a holistic educational system using repetitive physical activities incorporating rhythm, song and phrases to help young people with neurological conditions and brain injury carry out simple movements. Conditions include cerebral palsy, Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), Williams Syndrome, Moebius Syndrome, Downs Syndrome during the early years and acquired brain injury. It can also benefit individuals who do not have a diagnosis and those with global developmental delay, genetic conditions and other physical disabilities.

Today we say a fond farewell to one of our longest-standing team members, Shelley, as she sets off on her next adventure - a well-earned (and no doubt very busy!) retirement 💛

Shelley has worked with children across the organisation for over 16 years, originally joining Rainbow as a 1-to-1 support worker through the local authority. In more recent years, she has touched the lives of so many children through her incredible communication skills, engaging children, staff, and families in new and meaningful ways to support our little people.

Shelley will be hugely missed, but she leaves behind a legacy that will live on for many, many years. We are all incredibly proud to have been part of her journey, and to call her a colleague, friend, and mentor.

Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and passion, Shelley 🌈❤️

Enjoy every moment of your retirement - and we look forward to seeing you at Rainbow family days and all the volunteering opportunities we’re sure you won’t be able to resist! 🌈🌈🌈

💜 Today, Rainbow Hub is proud to celebrate Epilepsy Awareness Day 💜

We support children and young people with a variety of neurological and physical challenges. Some of the children we work with also live with epilepsy, and we are proud to help every individual thrive while ensuring families feel supported every step of the way.

With epilepsy comes daily challenges and uncertainty for both children and their families. Today, we take a moment to recognise the resilience and strength of all those living with epilepsy and those affected by it too.

Today is about raising awareness and building understanding 💜

Today was a truly special day at Rainbow Hub ❤️🌈

We were extremely proud to hold the official opening of Rainbow Hub School. Although our school first opened its doors in 2024 and has already achieved an Outstanding Ofsted inspection, we felt it was the perfect time to celebrate just how far it has come - and the incredible future ahead 🥳

We were honoured to be joined by some amazing guests who helped us mark the occasion.
A heartfelt thank you to Bill Ainscough, whose generosity made our building - and this dream - possible. We were also delighted to welcome sporting legends Jamie Carragher and Tony Bellew, along with Rachel Bellew; the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Mrs Amanda Parker JP - Lancashire Lieutenancy and the Mayor and Mayoress of Chorley.

It was a fantastic day spent with many of our supporters and friends, who have been part of the development and success of our school, alongside our VIPs - the incredible children of Rainbow Hub School! Some of them truly stole the show, wowing our guests with their own special performance of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' 🌈

A truly memorable day, celebrating not just how far we’ve come, but the bright future ahead for Rainbow Hub and the children we support ❤️

A special shout out to our friend Heather Capture Photography for capturing the day so beautifully - we cannot wait to see the rest of the shots 📸

We’re proud to spotlight one of our legal partners, Irwin Mitchell, this month ❤🌈

After kindly sponsoring our International Women’s Day earlier this in March🌸👑❤ 🌈 , it feels like the perfect time to recognise their ongoing support.

As part of this, they’re also offering free legal consultations throughout March. This is a great opportunity to speak directly with a specialist lawyer about any concerns—whether it’s medical negligence, education issues, deputyships, or anything else.

Our Story

A Brighter Place

Families are right at the heart of Rainbow Hub. Based in Mawdesley, Lancashire, we’re a charity providing therapeutic services for children and young people with physical disabilities as a result of a neurological condition or brain injury.

We are now supporting over 100 families per week, helping children to reach their full potential and gain more independence through fun, hands-on activities, while giving their parents the vital support they deserve.

No other organisation offers such a diverse range of services aimed at improving the physical, social and emotional well-being of children with complex needs, as well as reducing the stress and isolation in their families.
