Meet our target member Lou who has shared her inspirational story with us. Lou talks about the power of joining a group…and being consistent, with every little win adding up to the bigger end goal.
Lou told us
“After my mum died in April 2017, I found comfort in food.
I had disappeared into a dark pit of deep grief with very little light!
Over Christmas 2017 my husband Mark and I had been talking about how we were feeling, both admitting that we didn’t like how we looked and more importantly how we felt.
Boxing Day 2017 a leaflet dropped through our door for Warton Slimming World.
As an expectant Grandma, I wanted to be fit and healthy enough to run around with my grand children…I still can’t quite believe I’m writing this… but I’ve officially lost 3.5 stone.
This journey hasn’t been quick, easy, or perfect. There were days I felt unstoppable and days I wanted to quit entirely. There were moments of doubt and frustration that tested me. But through it all, I kept showing up — even when motivation was low.
What’s changed isn’t just the number on the scale. I feel stronger, healthier, and more confident in myself than I have in years. Simple things like having more energy, sleeping better, and feeling comfortable in my own skin mean everything.
I’ve learned that it’s not about being perfect — it’s about being consistent. Small changes really do add up, and progress is still progress, no matter how slow it feels.
If you’re at the start of your journey or struggling somewhere along the way, just know: it is possible. Keep going. You’re capable of more than you think.
Here’s to continuing the journey.”
Thank you Lou for being open and sharing your story. Carry on being inspirational ❤️
