Good continuous foot care is essential for your well being.

At Head to Toes Reflexology and Foot Care, I firmly believe that Reflexology and Foot Care goes hand in hand with maintaining your health and wellness. A lot of people often neglect their feet, either through lack of time or when they get so bad, they just hide them away and hope they will improve, they wont, they just continue to worsen and cause you even more pain and discomfort.

The nails on your toes grow slower than your hand nails and if cut too short and at the wrong angle, can, as they grow, develop into an in-growing toenail in the big toe, which is very painful and can easily become inflamed.

As a Foot Care Practitioner, I cant think of anything nicer than having your feet pampered (as well as Reflexology, of course) When you come along for your appointment, your feet will be bathed in a lovely warming foot spa, infused with beneficial salts and extra essential oils, to soften and cleanse ready for the process. I will trim your nail, remove any built up debris that collects under the nail bed, which, if left too long, can make the nail raise up from the nail bed and be distorted. Your excess cuticles will be removed, if your cuticles are left to grow, they quickly cover the whole of the nail and can be detrimental to nail health, cuticle excess is just a build up of dead skin cells. Nail fungus, often affecting the big toe, is a result of moisture getting trapped between the nail bed and the nail, fungus likes nothing better that damp moist areas to start to multiply, this is shown as dark brown colouring on the nail and can become so bad that the nail becomes detached, stop it now before this happens by having a good treatment plan.

Depending on the condition of your nails, I will discuss with you what further treatment is needed. I can also remove in-growing toenails but if they are to severe, then i will recommend you to see a Podiatrist. Your hard skin or calluses, that have built up on various parts of your planter region will be removed, the reason why the skin becomes thicker and harder in certain parts of the foot, is due to protection of the structures within the foot that are being pounded over and over, flip flops are one of the culprits for this. To finish your session, I will apply a gentle plant based foot scrub and moisturiser.
