As the heating goes on and the temperature drops, blocked noses and sinus pressure become all too common. But when symptoms linger, it might be more than just a cold.

Here are three simple ways to help keep your sinuses healthy this winter:

1. Stay hydrated – moisture helps keep mucus thin and sinuses clear.
2. Use a humidifier – dry indoor air can worsen congestion.
3. Know when to seek help – if symptoms last more than 10 days or keep coming back, it could be time to see your GP.

See clearly in the dark.

Do you find it harder to drive at night because of glare from car headlights?

Cataracts can make night vision more difficult, causing glare, halos, and reduced visibility in low light. The good news is, treatment can make a real difference.

At CHEC, we offer short waiting times for cataract surgery, helping you enjoy clearer vision and confidence behind the wheel — day or night.

If you’ve noticed changes to your sight, speak to your GP about a referral to CHEC.

Blocked nose? You’re not alone, congestion is one of the most frustrating parts of winter colds and flu 👃

Nasal sprays can be a quick and effective way to help you breathe easier, but not all sprays are the same. Knowing which type to use, and when, can make all the difference this season.

Here’s what to keep in mind:
• Saline sprays (salt water) help soothe dry nasal passages and clear mucus. Safe for daily use.
• Decongestant sprays work fast to unblock your nose but should only be used for 5–7 days to avoid rebound congestion.
• Steroid sprays (usually prescribed) help manage long-term conditions like allergies or nasal polyps.
• If your congestion lasts longer than a week or you find yourself relying on a decongestant spray to breathe, speak with your pharmacist or GP for advice.

What a brilliant start for our new Gastroenterology service at CHEC Worthing!

The team successfully welcomed our very first endoscopy patients, and the atmosphere was fantastic. This expansion means patients across the region now have increased access to vital diagnostic care, helping to reduce waiting times.

Alicia Pompon, our Community Partner, said: "I'm really proud of our fantastic team today, ensuring patients know they’re in good hands with their healthcare needs."

As the days get shorter and the air turns crisp, your skin may start to feel drier and more sensitive — but a few small changes can make a big difference 🍂

Here are some simple ways to keep your skin feeling soft and healthy this autumn:
• Stay hydrated – Keep drinking water throughout the day to support your skin’s elasticity.
• Switch to a richer moisturiser – Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, or glycerine.
• Shorten your showers – Use lukewarm water and gently pat your skin dry.
• Protect from the cold – Wear gloves and scarves, and consider using a humidifier indoors.
• Don’t skip SPF – UV rays can still affect your skin, even on cloudy days.

A few small adjustments can help keep your skin comfortable and healthy all season long
