In Traditional Chinese Medicine, menstrual blood is known as one of the heavenly substances, rooted in the pre-heavenly Qi of the Kidneys (our language is beautifully descriptive!) and a good barometer of women’s essence and health. Far from the simple “waste product” connotation given to it in Western medicine, Tian Gui, meaning “heavenly waters” is used as a very important diagnostic tool in women’s health. Here’s another example of how Western medicine is finally catching up with TCM 😊, the original mind body medicine ☯️
