Thank you so much to Harry Dunsmuir, and his partner Evie, who have raised an incredible £1,500 for us in thanks for the care that their baby boy Tommy received from our Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust NICU colleagues following his birth 🙏🧡

As well as fundraising via their Just Giving page, the couple also organised a charity New Year's Eve party at The Wellington on Tulketh Road, from which we received funds from ticket sales and money raised through a signed PNE football shirt auction. Thank you so much to you both for thinking of us - these funds will help to make a real difference for other tiny babies when they need it the most 🤗

✨ Delivery Suite Performance Update – January 2026 ✨
We’re proud to share our latest performance board, highlighting the great care being provided on our Delivery Suite. Thank you to all our families for your trust, and to our dedicated maternity teams for their continued hard work.
Here are some key highlights from January:
💙 Safe, High‑Quality Care
All birth rooms were cleaned to infection‑control standards by our brilliant Maternity Support Workers.
We continue to achieve strong results in hand hygiene and clinical audits.
🤰 Personalised Care in Labour
98.6% of women received one‑to‑one midwifery care during established labour.
Our team supported 274 births this month, providing compassionate care throughout.
👶 Positive Birth Experiences
80.7% of women had skin‑to‑skin contact with their baby within the first hour of birth.
Breastfeeding was initiated by almost 200 women in the first hours after birth.
🏥 Responsive Care When Needed
25 women received enhanced monitoring on our High Dependency pathway.
Obstetric and anaesthetic teams continued to provide timely, specialist support.
💛 Supporting Different Birth Journeys
We supported women choosing various pain relief options, vaginal births after caesarean (VBAC), early discharge, and transfers from other settings.

We share these updates to keep our community informed and to celebrate the ongoing commitment of our maternity teams to safe, kind, and personalised care.
