Despite being a wonderful experience, the physical and emotional toll during pregnancy can be significant.

Louise offers pregnancy massage which is designed to support mums-to-be as their bodies move through each trimester, offering a range of evidence-based benefits for both the mum and baby.

1. Alleviation of Physical Aches.
As baby grows, mums centre of gravity shifts, putting immense strain on the body. Pregnancy massage focuses relieving back, hip, pelvic and sciatic nerve pain, reducing muscle tension, and loosening tight joints.

2. Reduction of Swelling.
Swelling in the legs, feet, ankles and hands is common. Louise uses techniques to stimulate the lymphatic system which willl significantly reduce this swelling.

3. Hormonal Regulation and Mood Support.
Studies show that massage therapy during pregnancy can lower levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) while boosting serotonin and dopamine. This hormonal balance leads to improved mood, reduced anxiety, and better quality of sleep.

4. Improved Circulation and Oxygenation.
By enhancing blood flow, massage ensures that the placenta receives a healthy supply of oxygen and nutrients. Improved circulation can also help reduce overall fatigue.

Louise has over 17 years experience, is the only therapist in Lancashire to be recommended by the NHS Women’s Health physios and is based in her home treatment room in Cottam.

Many moons ago when I was 18-years-old, I was told I would not be able to conceive naturally. It was heartbreaking and for the years following that, the thought of never having my own child left me feeling devastated.
Fast forward ten years to 2004, brings us to my first round of IVF and I felt like the luckiest lady alive to become pregnant with my son, Mason, who is now 20-years-old.
However, my pregnancy wasn’t easy. I was diagnosed with pelvic girdle pain quite early on. Walking was very painful, sitting was painful, being in bed was painful. I was on crutches, I was nursing at the time and it was tough. BUT, I was so delighted and grateful to be pregnant that I didn’t allow it to ruin my pregnancy, I still managed to find so much joy in it.
A year or so after giving birth, it dawned on me that so many ladies much hate being pregnancy due the pain and unwanted ailments it can cause. So, when Mason started nursery, I left nursing and trained in holistic therapy and then on to pregnancy massage training. In 2008 Louise Oliver Pregnancy Massage was born and I’m proud knowing I have helped so many ladies enjoy healthier, happier pregnancies. I’m the only therapist in Lancashire that NHS Women’s health physios recommend for pelvic girdle pain treatment.
So, if you’re struggling with pregnancy related ailments and you’re wondering if I can help, please drop me a message today.

Are you pregnant and in pain?
If you are experiencing pain in any of the following areas, you’ve most likely got Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP).

Lower back
Hips
Groin
P***c bone (front of pelvis)
Buttocks or upper thighs
Some people feel clicking or grinding in the pelvis

It can feel like a sharp, stabbing, or aching pain.
Pain when sitting for long periods, walking, climbing stairs, turning in bed, or getting in/out of a car.
Pain can be worse on one side.
You may also experience the feeling of instability or weakness in the pelvis.

I have been specialising in treating PGP for the past 17 years. I’m the only therapist recommended by Women’s Health NHS physios.

Soft tissue massage releases the muscles which reduces pulling on the pelvic joints, improving movement and comfort and helps to decrease pain flare-ups.

Don’t be in pain throught your pregnancy, make an appointment with me today and let me help you enjoy your pregnancy pain-free 💕

My labour inducing massage is deeply relaxing and dedicated to stimulating the release of endorphins and oxytocin. With the addition of pressure point massage, this massage encourages labour and contractions whilst treating any pain such and back and/or pelvic discomfort. Although this treatment is available from 37 weeks, I generally advise (unless going in for hospital induction) to wait until 38 weeks. For further information, please don't hesitate to contact me directly 💗💙
