Day 9 - Mindful walk with a friend

SO.... Not posting a mindful post every single day ๐Ÿ˜ I feel it's more important to be authentic and that means I don't always practise every day.
โœ… Whilst we did natter and have our catch up with Henry too (His birthday walk) I also managed to find moments of mindfulness.
๐Ÿ‘€ Look at the view, notice how it is different through the trees or look far in to the distance.
๐Ÿฆ Listen to the birds singing in the trees.

Day 8 - Mindful listening

Effective communciation is key to effective relationships and super important when offering support to friends. However, we often struggle to really listen, our own minds are FULL and we are often distracted by our own thoughts.

SO....
โœ… Set the intention to really listen, and focus on the person.

๐Ÿšซ Stop what you are doing and give the person your full attention.

๐Ÿ‘‚Listen without judgement, without allowing yourself to start thinking about your reply. Simply listen.

๐ŸŒฟ Observe how you notice each word and pause, the change perhaps in the person's expressions as they speak.

Day 6 - Mindful gardening/mowing the lawn ๐Ÿก

โฑ๏ธ Even if you are super busy there should always be an opportunity to practice mindfulness. Today I wanted to cut the grass, it was a lovely afternoon and it had really overgrown.

๐Ÿ‘€ Paying attention to the weeds, wild flowers and the different grasses kept me in the present.

๐ŸŒฟ Decided I couldn't cut all of the beautiful daisies just yet, so I left a patch at the top of the garden to be wild a little bit longer ๐ŸŒผ

To begin: whilst it's important to be aware of your surroundings, vehicles and pedestrians there should still be opportunities to practice mindfulness.

To begin: Turn the shower on and clear your mind.

๐Ÿ‘‚ Listen to the sound of the water sounding like rain as it flows. Try to hear each individual drop.

๐Ÿšฟ Feel the warmth of the water as it massages your skin, as you move notice the change as the water flows.

๐Ÿซง Inhale the aroma of the shower products mixed now with the steam.

๐Ÿคฏ Imagine any unwanted thoughts flowing down the waste pipe with the water, leaving you feeling lighter and free.
