February 1st 2026 - White Rabbits!
✨The Snow Moon is the traditional name for the first full moon in February, a time when winter’s grip is often at its harshest.
✨Seasonal Origin: Named for the peak snowfall traditionally occurring in February across the Northern Hemisphere, this moon served as a vital seasonal marker for early cultures. In the UK, it is often seen between the festivals of Imbolc (the first signs of spring) and the Spring Equinox, illuminating the landscape during some of the year's coldest nights.
✨Symbol of Endurance: Historically known as the Hunger Moon or Bone Moon due to dwindling winter food stores, it symbolises survival, patience, and the "quiet strength" needed to endure the final stretch of winter before the thaw.
✨Connection to Hidden Life: Symbolically, the Snow Moon connects us to nature by highlighting the "unseen growth" happening beneath the frozen surface. It invites us to mimic this natural rhythm by turning inward for reflection and preparation, trusting that life is quietly stirring beneath the winter frost just as snowdrops begin to push through the soil.
