Hi beautiful friend, welcome to this space!

💡 Today I bring you a perspective that may create some space for reflection within you.

👥 How do we foster secure attachment within whilst relating with those around us, with our loved ones, with our communities, with the systems around us and with the systems that we get to shape and create?

Here’s a little tip to guide you to discern your own relationships.

Create two columns, and separate:

🚦Which interactions in your life put you on the edge of your seat and cause you to shrink and what interactions welcome you to sit back and show up fully as the most authentic and goofy version of you?

If you’re wanting to dive deeper, you can write next to each interaction, what sensations come up within you (whether you shrink, smile more, ‘armour up’ or people please/fawn).

This can be tough work. Be kind to yourself, and maybe offer some love to the parts of you that may carry shame. I invite you to give yourself a big hug, by placing your arms around you and saying to yourself “I am here with you right now, you are safe”.

Sending you compassion and gentleness,

Maria Venusa 💚🙏🏻🌱

I have used my planner everyday since, and I’m excited to witness what might come from these pages.

It’s great to be in community!

Beautiful friend,
Your body speaks before any other part of you speaks.

💌 Often before life transitions and endings take place, we start receiving messages that gradually become louder and louder.

And it does so in skin flare ups, in tightness, in sudden localised pain, in a general physical and emotional discomfort.
It nudges you this way when something feels misaligned.
And yes, it’s so easy to ignore it, with outside distractions, with brain chatter, with seeking external validation through objects, people, places, constant busyness masked as productivity, s*x or other.

📣 And yet the gut and the heart continue to speak, the body continues to speak for it is connected to your intuition.
You need not fear it, for it will show you the way, through subtle messages that everyday get stronger and stronger.

🧏🏽‍♀️ Sometimes it’ll say “have that conversation”, “leave that job”, “start that hobby”, “go spend time in nature”, take the week off”, “leave this town”, “this project is no longer aligned”, “leave this city”, “end this relationship”, “start that venture”, “start that podcast”, “stop trying so hard with these people”.
Among endless other messages, often subtle, in addition to the signs and symptoms within your body.

For a long time I had skin flare ups in my neck and behind my ears, as a signal to make a huge move in my life.
As I started to listen, my skin gradually recovered.

Yes, it’s scary ground, the unknown right?
And yet, it’s your personal portal to endless wonder and opportunities.

💡Trust your body when it speaks.

What step can you take today, to start listening to your body?
💡 Take 5 minutes within your day and pause. Stop. In silence. If you’re feeling brave, take 10 minutes or more. And listen. Listen intently.

So much compassion and love for you and your journey,

Maria Venusa 💚🫶🏻🙏🏻

So many of us try to avoid endings because we don’t want to experience the grief that will follow afterward.
The gut and heart wrenching truth that a chapter is over, whether that’s a breakup, a job loss, a house move, a country move, the loss of a loved one or other.
It’s tough and sometimes we don’t really want to confront this reality.

💡And yet my beautiful friends, as s**t and hard as it is, what if I was to tell you that on the other side of this grief, that real and unimaginaginable magic lies ahead, with a more open and courageous heart, that can feel it all so very deeply. And that includes Joy, and gratitude and peace.

🍃 So much of this process that asks you to feel it all, connect with it all, with inner compassion, grace, sometimes with not so much grace, howls, real ugly cries and all.

💌 Grief does not break you, it will contract you though, and in that contraction it will break open the deeper states of love that rest within you, waiting to be awaken.

I speak from personal experience, beautiful friends. For grief has knocked on my door so very unexpectedly after my own romantic relationship ending late last year — yet busy, feeling on top of the world with lots to do, with family get togethers, speaking appearances, I felt I had grieved most of it.
And suddenly when the opportunity for rest arrived, the body kindly asked:
“Is it okay to grieve? Now?”

And I said:
“Okay old friend, I am a little scared you’ll never leave, and yet I know that your presence is asking me to remember my humanness, the messiness and depth that will ultimately take me to a more profound version of myself. And I’m here for that kind of ride.”

Now onto you friend. Are you?

💡Remember also that this work happens in community. And in these moments, it is important to be around those safe, kind and non judgemental people in your life. Whether they’re family, friends, a therapist, a grief coach or practitioner, a grief group or other, remember that this is about being witnessed and supported.

So much love,

Maria Venusa 🌱🤍🙏🏻

Fear.
Not so much a deterrent like many think, but a messenger.
What does this mean?

From the work of Clarissa Pincola Estés, fear can be divided into three parts:
A residue from the past, which often is a source of shame, another part being a lack of certainty in the present, and the last part being the possibility of a poor outcome in the future.

Fear is also often trying to protect us from an outcome of a past episode in the present moment, so it is using the same protection mechanism that may have helped in a past outcome, however as the brain often thrives on familiarity and prediction, it’s working with tools that can often misguides us, keep us frozen and stuck.
It’s a bit like going to a fast food chain to get healthy and nutritious food — it doesn’t work.

So what is required here?

Well no doubt, it’s a little scary to move into the unknown, for the brain prefers a negative familiar outcome as opposed to the unknown or unfamiliar, from a neuroplasticity stance — fascinating right?

This is where acknowledging our emotions with compassion comes, for change and transmutation cannot exist without it.

Next time you feel fear, It’s helpful to pause, to acknowledge it, to be grateful for its message, and to also ask it questions.

For example, we can use an in focus technique by Ann Wiser Cornell:

“I am sensing something in me that feels like fear.”

“Hi Fear”
(Let it speak)

“What are you worried about?”
(Let it speak)

“So you feel worried about… no wonder you feel fearful”

“Thank you for sharing this with me fear”

“Fear, you are allowed to live in my body.”

And now that we’ve acknowledge fear, this is where our intuition comes. We are deeply connected to it via our heart and our gut.

How do we connect with it?

I am going to leave you with a sentence stem (sentence stems allow intuition to come through via what feels like a thought, as well as body sensations — quiet and yet filled with peace and relief)

Remember, if the thought/sensation that comes has anxiety attached to it, this is NOT your intuition.

Sentence stem:
Even though fear might be present, the next step that fills me with excitement and wonder is….

Life is not stagnant, nor should we expect our journeys on this Earth to be.

Nature is our greatest teacher, when it comes to change.

So I ask you, what seeds, what leaves in your own life are asking to be tended to, to be nourished and to be cared for?

And what seeds, what leaves are slowly dying or asking to be transmuted, to be left and to be released?

The wisdom lies in allowing the innate knowing within you to speak with you.
And for you to let it speak.
And for you to try not to change it, but to welcome it, and to follow through on the most aligned step.

This step needn’t be large or grand, simply the step that comes from an attentive ear. What simple, and yet most aligned and nourishing step for myself and my heart lies ahead of me right now?

With warmth, courage and love,

Maria Venusa 🌱

Happy new chapter 2026! 🥳
You’ve done the resolutions, maybe you went out with your friends and family, maybe you stayed up ‘til midnight, maybe you wrote some affirmations down, maybe you went to bed because for you this is “just another year”.

Great! Whatever you did that was aligned with what you felt was right for you then.

And now, now what?

You go back to the same unhealthy or stagnant patterns in relationships (both with yourself and those around you), the same misaligned job or career, or you tell yourself that you still like where you live, or that it’s okay to not pursue that change that you’ve been wanting, because this is as good as it gets, right?

That’s it, you wake up, you put a smile on, say all the “right” things, you “tick all of the boxes” and go back home, go to bed and do it all again tomorrow; and now what?

We have been primed by our schools, our institutions, our families to value that which withstands time, that which endures.
When in reality life is not stagnant, the water rolls down the stream, the wind moves from north to east, and west to south, and so forth.
Life is not stagnant, nor should we expect our journeys on this Earth to be.

So, with this, I ask you as I invite you to place one hand on your heart and one hand on your tummy, to take a deep and long breath in, hold for four seconds and let it out with a “VUUH” sound.

What life transition are you avoiding or delaying stepping into, for fear of the unknown?

This is your journey and you have all that is required within you already to step into your fullest potential.

And remember, inner compassion is not a cute thing people talk about, it’s a requirement to learn to trust yourself in this process.

So much love and so much courage for 2026 and beyond. 💚🫶🏻🦸🏾‍♂️🦸🏻‍♀️🦹

On Saturday, December 13th, I had the pleasure to be invited to be one of the keynote speakers on the Women Connect Summit by Kausar Abdulai, founder of AfriRise.

This was a beautiful summit where mindset shifts, inspiration and transformation were generously shared with women committed to making an impact on this planet for the year of 2026.

And my talk “Answer the Call” was meant to leave deeper questions to be stirred within each attendee — questions such as:

“Where are you telling yourself that this is as good as it gets?”

“Where are you overstaying for fear of the unknown, for fear of rejection or for fear of abandonment?”

“Where have you settled or learnt to shut down?”

“Where are you dimming your light for fear of not fitting in?”

Living our most nourishing and fulfilled lives comes from asking deeper questions within. Those questions that often not many want to ask.

And yet, these questions will reveal the deepest truth living inside of us.

Care to listen?

Thank you dear Kausar Abdulai, thank you to all of the speakers, thank you to all of the attendees for creating such a nurturing space, where magic permeated all corners, let’s keep sprinkling some more magic!

So much love! 💚🙏🏻✨

Hi everyone! 😊
It’s been a while.

Life has presented and continues to present some waves that demand my commitment to holding on to the board and surfing the waves of life with sometimes very little grace, and sometimes a little more.

This shift has however set the tone to a change of path, both personally and professionally.

And no, I’m not going to start a ukulele band hehe — that’s still a hobby that fills my Joy Bank. 🫶🏻

This shift is however connected to what feels like my larger vision. I shall keep you updated!

In the meantime, see you soon, and keep surfing!

Love and grace,

Maria Venusa 💛☀️🏄🏻‍♀️
