Promenade Care Home We aim to provide a high standard of care, preserving the privacy and dignity of our residents at al A large comfortable lounge overlooks the King’s Gardens.

The Promenade Residential Care Home offers a high standard of residential care and provides a homely environment for those who wish to retire in comfort and security without losing their independence. Its location and facilities make it ideal for both permanent care and respite holiday care. All bedrooms are well appointed, several with views of the Promenade and Marine Lake. The majority have en-suite facilities and all are equipped with a call system, television points and there is Internet-enabled Wi-Fi access throughout the home. Desktop and laptop computers are available for the use of the residents.

What a wonderful start to the week ….

With Remembrance Day just around the corner, we took some of our residents to see the beautiful crocheted Spitfire in Southport town centre. It was truly special listening to their stories and memories from the war years.

We were also treated to a lovely performance of wartime classics by the incredibly talented Chloe Ackers, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Our chef has been busy too — making some delicious Parkin for our afternoon tea!

🎃 We’ve had a spooktacular start to the week! 👻

From fabulous Halloween crafts and a fun trip to see some amazing local decorations, to fantastic entertainment from Caz and Carl (always a pleasure to have you both!) — it’s been a frightfully good time!

A huge thank you to our wonderful chef, Mark, for his deliciously spooky afternoon treats. 🍰🕸️ and a huge thank you to Michelle for a wonderful morning!!!!

The home is now fully decorated and ready for more Halloween fun — we can’t wait for Halloween Bingo this Friday!

It was so special hearing everyone share their stories, laugh about the past, and reconnect over shared experiences. These moments of reflection remind us just how powerful our memories can be. 💬💖
Reminiscence activities like this aren’t just enjoyable — they’re great for wellbeing too! They help keep the mind active, boost mood, encourage social connection, and give our residents a wonderful sense of identity and purpose. 🧠❤️

It’s been an active and enjoyable day for our lovely residents today!
We kicked things off with a lively fitness session led by the wonderful RISE team — complete with a touch of Halloween fun! Staying active is so important for our residents, helping to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and overall wellbeing.

This afternoon, we kept the energy going with some friendly competition and laughter during our giant games session. A big well done to our winner, Norma! 👏🎃

We’ve been making the most of the beautiful autumn sunshine with a trip out to the lake to feed the ducks. There’s nothing quite like fresh air and crisp sunshine—and the birds certainly seemed to enjoy it too!

Today we also held a coffee morning in support of Macmillan, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed.
It’s been another busy week here—and dare we say it—we’ve already started planning our Christmas activities and entertainment! 🎄✨

What a truly wonderful day!
A huge thank you to our amazing families and friends who joined us for today’s event – we all had such a fantastic time! There was singing, dancing, delicious food, and even a conga line to top it all off.

I feel so proud and humbled to be the manager of such an incredible home. The team were absolutely outstanding, and I’m so grateful for all their hard work and support. A special thank you goes to Mark, one of our talented chefs, for creating a fantastic menu that gave our guests the chance to sample our brand-new autumn/winter dishes.

It really was a fantastic afternoon, and moments like this remind me just how rewarding it is to work in the care industry.

Today we enjoyed a wonderful Rise Southport, Ormskirk and Formby Fitness Hour – a great way to keep active, build strength, and support mobility, balance, and overall wellbeing. Gentle exercise can make such a difference for our elderly residents, boosting mood, energy, and even appetite (we were all ready for lunch afterwards!).

For those who preferred a quieter pace, we offered a relaxing craft session – a lovely chance to unwind and get creative.

Don’t forget, tomorrow is our Family and Friends Event at 3pm – we’d love for you to join us! 🩷🩷

We’ve given our activities calendar a fresh new look with the wonderful support of our Residents’ Committee, and today we enjoyed a fabulous “Sip and Paint” event that was a resounding success! 🎨

✨ Easels at the ready, Prosecco perfectly chilled, and plenty of laughter filled the room as we discovered some true hidden talents — there may even be a few Van Goghs amongst us!

Did you know? Painting can provide tremendous benefits for older adults, including boosting memory, enhancing motor skills, and reducing stress while offering a creative outlet for self-expression.

This week we also indulged in some pampering facials, got moving with balloon tennis, and sang our hearts out with good old karaoke! 🎤💆‍♀️🎈

Stay tuned to see what’s in store for next week — it’s going to be just as fun!

Some of our wonderful residents enjoyed a fabulous trip to Lytham on Wednesday. They tucked into a lovely picnic and took a scenic drive through Blackpool. Although the British weather wasn’t quite on our side, it didn’t dampen spirits — everyone had a fantastic day!

A big thank you to Louise, Busie, Sue, and Penny for all your help and support in making the day so special.
