We've all heard of them and often the thought of writing stuff down is a bit overwhelming, especially if your met with comments like 'there is no point'.
I've been in this 'birth world' since 2016 and supported hundreds and hundreds of people.
I can tell you with absolute certainty... There is EVERY POINT in this. BUT .....
This is less about what you want and 'the plan' and more about looking into stuff, communication with your birth partner and health care team, feeling informed and educating yourselves on not just you dream birth, but the twists and turns that can sometimes happen along the way.
It's impossible to plan for everything but you can have a look into and think about things like:
- How you want to feel, and what will help you to feel that way
- Induction and the process
- How the body works
- Environment
- Pain relief options Inc how they effect you and baby
- Things you would like to include like music, lighting, who announces the s*x of the baby
- Different feeding options
- Cesarean birth
- How you would like your birth partner to support you
- Navigating the system and the process
You get the picture!
Having really good discussions with your birth partner, looking into different options, you may be surprised with what you find out.
During our Antenatal and Hyponbirthing courses, we go through LOADS of things to help you along the way, plus you can ask questions, even if you think they feel a bit silly (there is no such thing).
If your interested in a course, give me a shout. I have courses now available to book until June 2026, in Southport and Crosby.
