An exciting opportunity for a Home Manager has arisen at Deanwood Manor Home in Orrell, Wigan.

Deanwood Manor is a large 50 bedded home that specialises in care for people living with dementia. The home is situated in beautiful grounds with secure garden areas as well as large garden areas.

Deanwood Manor was awarded a 'good in all areas' CQC rating in October 2019. Deanwood Manor has a current 9.9 review score on carehome.co.uk, Deanwood Manor combines excellent facilities with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home.

Team Deanwood Manor recently won the Committee Nominated Award at the Wigan Palliative and End of Life Care Learning Hub Awards 2025, recognising the team's compassion and commitment to delivering exceptional care.

About the role:
- Managing and developing high quality services for all our residents
- Developing and guiding the team of staff.
- Encourage and instill a culture of care and continuous improvement across the service
- Actively working with staff, residents and their families, to help shape and develop a centre of excellence for person-centred care.
- The promotion of high standards of nursing care, following CQC and NMC guidelines, by ensuring all staff are managed appropriately and the Home runs in a smooth and efficient manner.

The Coniston Unit at Callands Care Home has been established to meet the growing demand for specialist, tailored care for adults with complex health and social care needs.

Led by Home Manager Vicki Costello, this dedicated 11-bed nursing unit provides care and support for male adults living with:
- Complex and enduring mental health conditions
- Organic brain disorders, such as dementia or other cognitive impairments, where these present as secondary needs alongside more prominent complex mental health or neurological conditions
- Neuro disabilities, including Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), particularly where there are associated psychological, behavioural, or cognitive challenges

The Coniston Unit has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, therapeutic and recovery-focused environment that enhances quality of life, dignity and wellbeing, while ensuring the highest possible standards of safety and support.

It’s a time to raise awareness and stand alongside everyone affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. At Dovehaven, we’re reflecting on the many ways Dovehaven supports people living with dementia and their families. In the last three months, we’ve completed 219,525 PainChek assessments, helping us better understand and manage pain for residents living with dementia.💙
