Anger is not the enemy.

For many of us, anger was something we weren’t allowed to feel. Maybe we were told it was wrong, dramatic, ungrateful — or maybe we were punished or shut down when we expressed it. When that happens in childhood, it doesn’t just silence the feeling — it can disconnect us from the people we love and, over time, from ourselves.

But anger, at its core, is a signal. It shows up to protect us, to let us know when something doesn’t feel right, fair, or safe. It’s part of being human.

When we start listening to anger — ours and others’ — with curiosity instead of shame, we begin to reconnect. Expressing anger safely, honestly, and with compassion helps us feel grounded and understood. It helps us grow. Most importantly, it helps us stay connected to ourselves.

šŸ’¬ How do you feel about anger?
šŸ’„ What makes you angry?
šŸ¤ Can you relate to this?

Let’s start unlearning the idea that anger makes us bad — and remember that it’s often trying to point us toward something really important.

A HUGE THANK YOU šŸ’•ā˜ŗļøšŸŒ»

A year ago, I took a leap of faith and opened my own private Psychotherapy practice—uncertain, hopeful, and deeply committed to making a difference.

What I’ve experienced since then has been beyond anything I could have imagined. I have been met with unwavering support, advice, kindness and so much guidance. From the board of directors, to the fellow business owners onsite, and all the staff, especially at the reception of Enterprise House Carlow , local people, friends, family, community organisations, businesses and the town, I’m so proud to be part of, thank you, with all my heart. Without you, I wouldn't be here.🄹 šŸ’

I don’t strive for perfection. I strive to be present, real, and wholeheartedly myself in the work I do—and I believe that’s what has helped build the trust of my clients and the partnerships that have grown around Centered over the past year.

This work means everything to me. I will continue to do whatever it takes to serve better, listen deeper, to continually add to my learning and knowledge and grow with integrity —because our town deserves mental health support that is accessible, compassionate, affordable and up-to-date with industry practices and standards.

We are living through a mental health crisis, and in the face of a system that is stretched so thin, Centered Psychotherapy will remain committed to being a space that is affordable, inclusive, and grounded in care.

I don’t often step in front of the camera, but today I do—because I’m proud. Not just about the business, the service, but of the lives changed, the trust earned, and the path we’re walking together toward better mental health for our town and our community.

Thank you for walking this path with me! I appreciate each and every one of you.šŸŒžšŸ’•šŸŒ»šŸŽ‚šŸ˜Œā˜ŗļø
Here's to another year of progress, development, improvement and growth for us all!šŸ’•šŸŒ»

Carlow County Council is proud to announce the launch of the Carlow Period Dignity Initiative; a new initiative aimed at tackling period poverty in our County. The initiative is designed to provide access to free menstrual products through "no cost" dispensers placed in publicly accessible buildings across the county. Healthy Carlow believe that ā€œperiods are natural, so is dignity.ā€

ā€œThis initiative is about more than just providing products. It is about making a statement that, as a county, we care about the well-being of our citizens.ā€ said CoilĆn O’ Reilly, Chief Executive, Carlow County Council ā€œBy ensuring that period products are freely available, we are helping to break down the barriers that many people face when it comes to their menstrual health. We are saying that no one should have to face period poverty.ā€

The initiative is supported by the Department of Health and is part of ongoing efforts to address the challenges that many individuals face when it comes to accessing affordable menstrual products. It is widely recognized that period poverty – the inability to afford or access period products – is a significant barrier to full participation in society, particularly for those facing financial hardship.

According to the Healthy Ireland Survey 2022, a significant number of women experience some form of period poverty. The survey revealed that "24% of women surveyed have experienced at least one indicator of period poverty," with 14% of women aged over 25 reporting having to improvise with materials not intended for use during their period. These findings highlight the urgency of addressing period poverty and ensuring that menstrual products are accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.

As part of the Carlow Period Dignity Initiative, free period products are now available through dispensers in the following publicly accessible buildings:

Carlow County Council County Building
Carlow Town Hall
Carlow Enterprise House
Carlow County Museum and Library
Bagenalstown Library
Borris Library
Tullow Library
Ducketts Grove
New Oak Community Centre
Forward Steps Family Resource Centre
Free dispensers in these buildings ensures that people across the county have easy access to the products they need, helping to eliminate barriers to participation in daily activities, work, and education.

Speaking about the initiative, Leas Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Tommy Kinsella shared his enthusiasm ā€œWhether it's a student, a mother, a worker, or someone in between, we want to make sure that no one is excluded due to something as natural and necessary as menstruation.ā€

The launch of the Carlow Period Dignity Initiative is an important step in promoting dignity, health, and equality for all members of the Carlow community. Carlow County Council and Healthy Carlow remain committed to ensuring that no one in the community has to feel excluded from what is a necessity, not a luxury.

Healthy Carlow, in collaboration with Carlow County Council, is committed to growing the Carlow Period Dignity Initiative in 2025. If your building is proving free period products, contact us to form part of the Carlow Period Dignity Initiative. Participating locations will receive free information posters, window stickers, and promotional support to raise awareness of the initiative. My dearest gentle readers šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜…šŸ¦ŒšŸ§øā›„šŸŽ„šŸ’•

As the world slows to embrace the magic of Christmas, I want to share a gentle reminder with you—a few words of care for your heart and soul this season.

The holidays may sparkle with joy, but for many, they also echo with grief, loneliness, and struggle. Remember: it’s okay to feel. It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to let go of perfection. Life is not about picture-perfect moments but finding peace in imperfection.

ā€œGive to yourself what you so freely give to others.ā€ Whether that’s rest, kindness, or simply space to breathe, let yourself receive this season. Protect your peace, honor your boundaries, and know that it’s brave to sit only at tables that nourish you.

Christmas is a time of connection but also reflection. If you’re thriving, embrace it fully. If you’re surviving, take pride in each small step forward. One foot in front of the other is progress, and progress is worth celebrating.

I see your strength in choosing to face life’s complexities. I am so proud of the work you’ve done this year and privileged to be part of your journey. My hope for you, your family, and your loved ones is health, happiness, and hope—this season and into the year ahead.

Please know I’ll keep the light on for you in your darkest daysšŸ•Æļø. Together, we will sit with the shadows, shed light on them, and piece by piece, move toward the life you deserve. You are not alone. You are in my thoughts, and the world is better with you in it.šŸ˜Šā¤ļøšŸŽ„ā›„šŸ•ÆļøšŸ§øšŸ¦Œ

Wishing you love, peace, and the courage to thrive.
Warmly,

It's with a heavy heart that I share this post. Centered Psychotherapy joined Enterprise House in May 2024 with the assistance and guidance of Mary Wynne. Mary has been a source of light, kindness and guidance during what was a stressful time to get the service up and running. She was always a friendly face, there for a chat, a kind word and a helping hand. Mary and I had many conversations together during this time, she spoke of her family and her parents, her son, her past times, holidays, weddings, and so much more. We shared many lovely moments together over the last 6 months. I honestly cannot imagine walking into the building and not seeing her at reception. Mary was taken too soon, she had so much life and love to give. I know she will be missed terribly by all those who worked with her, knew her and belonged to her. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Mary's son, her parents and extended family, whom I know she adored and loved dearly. May her gentle soul rest in peace and may her family find comfort, light and support in the wake of Mary passing.

Where there is great suffering, there was great love. Mary was loved by so many and my thoughts and prayers are with all who are suffering her loss at this time.šŸ¤

Kindest regards
Clare Mullins

With heavy hearts, we heard the devastating news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Mary Wynne.
For over 18 years, Mary touched the lives of countless people who called Enterprise House their business home, always extending kindness and care to everyone who walked through our doors. She would try do something for everybody, and her warmth and generosity will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with her parents, son, daughter in law beloved grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and extended family and friends during this incredibly painful time. RIP
