🚨 “It’s normal for your age” — let’s talk about blood pressure…
Today I saw someone with a blood pressure reading of 170/93.
She’d been told it was “a little high, but normal for her age.”
👉 It’s not.
We rechecked her blood pressure, and while it came down, it was still above the healthy range.
💡 Here’s the bigger picture: Blood pressure is just one risk factor.
Your overall health risk also includes things like: • Family history
• Cholesterol
• Blood sugar
• Lifestyle factors
🩺 That’s why follow-up with your GP matters — because you’re not just a number, you’re a whole person.
💛 What you can do: • If your readings are consistently above 140/90, get them checked
• Consider using a home monitor to track trends
• Make sure readings are taken correctly (rested, seated, arm at heart level)
✨ Most importantly:
High blood pressure is often silent—quietly causing damage with No symptoms
When did you last get a blood pressure reading?
If in doubt, follow it up.
