The Episealer® Talus implant is personalised for each patient using MR or CT scans.

These scans help create a detailed 3D model of the ankle so the damaged area can be clearly identified. The implant is then designed to fit precisely and restore the joint.🦶

The knee pain impacted this patient’s life both physically and mentally, as well as his life as a father. Playing with his kids and training them during soccer practice was difficult. His surgeon gave him three alternatives for his cartilage lesion:

1. Do nothing
2. Mosaicplasty
3. Episealer®

They agreed that Episealer® was the best alternative. Mosaicplasty wouldn’t be suitable due to his age, and doing nothing would mean the risk of increasing pain.

“After about one month, I was practising on my trainer, and after about three months, I was able to run shorter distances.” “My knee doesn’t limit me anymore. I can do whatever I want.”

The Episealer® Patellofemoral System is a personalized implant system in which both implants are designed to match each other’s articulating surfaces.

When this is a suitable treatment alternative, the surgeon will receive a Damage Marking Report from us, visualizing the size and depth of the patient’s knee defects, as well as the suggested implant design and position.
