🍲 More Than a Recipe: Megans’ Mom's Chicken Paprikas

Every time Megan walks into her mom's kitchen and hears the hiss of the pressure cooker, she knows an incredible meal is coming.

This Hungarian dish is her mom's way of sharing love, heritage, and comfort.

To Megan, chicken paprikas is more than food. It's connection, memory, and a piece of home she can taste.

Every time Greta bakes this plum cake, she's transported back to her Omi's kitchen, where the smell of cinnamon and fresh plums meant love, laughter, and connection.

Her grandmother taught her that baking for others is a way to show care. That getting your hands messy is part of the magic. That food can hold memories and keep people close, even after they're gone.

This traditional German plum cake isn't just dessert. It's heritage. It's the afternoon kaffee und kuchen tradition her Omi cherished. It's the sound of their conversations over a warm slice and a cup of coffee.

Greta's Omi passed away when she was a teenager, but every time she makes this cake, she carries on her grandmother's legacy—one plum, one memory, one act of love at a time.

🍪 More Than a Recipe: Allison’s Mom’s Chocolate Chip Cookies 🍪

Every time Allison came home from college, she knew two things would be waiting: her people and a big plate of her mom’s homemade chocolate chip cookies.

There’s nothing secret or fancy about the recipe, but that’s what makes it special.

These cookies were her mom’s way of saying “I’m thinking of you” when life got busy. A warm, gooey reminder that love often shows up in the simplest ways.

To her, these cookies are comfort, connection, and the kind of love you can taste.

✨ Introducing our new series: More Than a Recipe ✨

We all have that one recipe, the one that means home, love, or a person we miss. The one that reminds us that food is never just food. 🍴

For Jordyn, it’s her grandma’s sugar cream pie. The smell of nutmeg filling the kitchen, the taste of family, and the memory of a love that still lingers through every holiday season. 🥧

More Than a Recipe is a new series where we share the stories behind the food that connects us, the ones that heal, comfort, and bring us back to the people and moments that shaped us.

Read Jordyn’s full story and get her grandma’s recipe for sugar cream pie on the blog — link in bio. 💛

Disordered eating is so normalized on college campuses…

Many things students celebrate as “healthy habits” like skipping meals, obsessing over calories, and fearing carbs… are actually huge red flags 🚩

In our new blog post, we’re breaking down the early signs and warning signs of eating disorders in college students, so you can learn what’s really going on beneath those food rules.

Here are some examples:

👉 Feeling anxious about eating in the dining hall
👉 Avoiding social events where you can’t control the food
👉 Obsessively checking ingredients + nutrition labels
👉 Extreme fear of gaining the “Freshman 15”
👉 Exercise as punishment for calories consumed instead of self-care

If you’re heading into the school year and struggling with food, you’re not alone.

And if this sounds like someone you care about, send them this blog. It might help them feel seen! 💛

“It doesn’t meet the diagnosis of an eating disorder so I don’t need help”

👇But here’s the truth:

Disordered eating can still steal your peace, joy, and energy.

You don’t have to wait for things to get worse before you get support.

Whether it’s skipping meals, obsessing over calories, feeling guilty after eating, or avoiding entire food groups… disordered eating hurts.

And you deserve support just as much as someone navigating an eating disorder.

If this feels familiar, we wrote a new blog all about the difference between disordered eating and eating disorders, and why BOTH deserve care.
