Since 2014 Healing Hands has had a yearly community service event that we call ‘Deeds For Diane’.
Clients that have been around since the early days might know why we do this, but as we have grown & expanded since then, we wanted to share this tradition for the people who may not know.
Diane Jacoby was an employee & dear friend. She was a talented massage therapist & a mother of two lovely daughters. She showed up for others, always asking how other people were doing & trying to make their lives sweeter. She was often joking, laughing, & in awe of the beauty around her. She loved doing things for other people, making them feel special, loved & cared for.
After her passing, there was a hole in the heart of Healing Hands for all who knew her. So in her name & today being her birthday, we do things that she would love & appreciate… it started small, adding coins to parking meters for strangers, paying for someone’s meal without their knowledge, etc. & has grown into a larger event every year that we do it: going to assisted living facilities to massage the elderly for free, volunteering at animal shelters… & has become something we do every year, to reach out to the community, in Diane’s name. We love how much our clients & even people outside of the Healing Hands community have embraced this yearly tradition!
We thank you, from our hearts, & for Diane as well, as she would be thrilled to know of the beautiful gifts of compassion & charity that are still done in her name.
This year we are accepting prom donations as well as cash donations for alterations and accessories for senior students in collaboration with a local high school to give back to the community to those who may not be able to afford the dress of their dreams.
If you would like to help make this prom one to remember, donations can be dropped off at Healing Hands now through March 31st during business hours.
We ask that you join alongside us today in making the world a little brighter, just like our dear friend Diane did every day of her life. 🤍
