Good News! You may be seeing more Monarch butterflies this spring and fall. The eastern migratory monarch butterfly population has increased by 64% in their Mexican overwintering sites for the 2025-2026 season, according to reports from World Wildlife Fund

It is the second consecutive year of increase for these magnificent pollinators and is attributed to a successful breeding season and better weather conditions.

They'll migrate the 3000 miles to Pennsylvania in the spring to breed and lay eggs on milkweed, the only plant their caterpillars eat, using it as a critical stopover to fuel the next generations.

Linda Polgar, 80, passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was rooted in faith, kindness, and unwavering love for others. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Polgar, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories.

She is survived by her loving children, Dena Inzone and her husband Joe Inzone, and Donald Polgar and his wife Amy Polgar. Linda was a proud grandmother to Danae Snover and her husband Anthony Snover, Dana Dreas and her husband Justin Dreas, and Sophia Polgar. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Joanne Moyer, Joseph Marinelli, and Rita Ziegler.

Linda helped raise all of her grandchildren, which she cherished deeply. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved cooking and hosting holidays, bringing everyone together with warmth and laughter.

She was especially known for her Christmas cookies—perfectly thin and delicate, melting in your mouth—an annual tradition that will be lovingly remembered by all who were lucky enough to enjoy them.

A woman of deep faith, Linda was dedicated to her church and gave her life to Jesus. She found comfort and joy in listening to gospel music, often driving around listening to her favorite gospel CDs. She prayed for each of her family members every single day.

Linda also treasured her friendships and looked forward to weekly dinners out, where she shared laughter and companionship.

During the summer months, she enjoyed days in Bethlehem at Musikfest and listening to music at ArtsQuest, embracing the simple joys of life.

Throughout her life, Linda was known for her generosity and compassion. She had a heart for helping others—whether family, friends, or strangers—and was the person you could call at any time. She would always listen without judgment or drop everything to lend a helping hand.

Linda’s legacy is one of love, faith, and selflessness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her warmth, kindness, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In accordance with Linda's wishes, there will be no services. Pearson Funeral Home, Inc.
