Common Foods that Cause Migraines
Wellness does not cost it Pays!
A migraine headache can cause intense throbbing or a pulsing sensation in one area of the head and is commonly accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can cause significant pain for hours to days and be so severe that all you can think about is finding a dark, quiet place to lie down.
YEAST BREADS: A naturally occurring chemical called coumarin in yeast may be why it’s a migraine trigger.
CITRUS FRUITS & BANANAS: That combination of tyramine and histamine are thought to be the reason fruits can be migraine
PROCESSED MEATS, AVOCADOS, OLIVES & RED PLUMS: Again, blame it on the tyramine.
DRIED FRUITS: Contain sulfites, which are thought to be the reason they can be a migraine trigger.
CHILI PEPPERS: The capsaicin in chili peppers can be a migraine trigger. In fact, it’s sometimes used in research to trigger migraines.
BEANS: All kinds of beans are potential food triggers – string beans, navy beans, kidney beans, lima beans and so on. The tannin in beans is thought to be the culprit
This warning extends to anything that has been pickled – eggs, beets, olives, vegetables, peppers, cucumbers, etc
Try keeping a food diary and go over it when you get a migraine with your doctor. This list is just some common causes “triggers” to migraines. It is always advised to seek out professional medical care to determine the exact cause of your migraines.
Every action, healing, hearing, seeing, breathing, blood flow, temperature maintenance, originates in the brain. A message travels down the spinal column and out into the body. Subluxations block and slow these messages, and the only way to remove the interference caused by subluxations is to get adjusted.
It is about quality of life! In order to be at 100%, your body must be functioning at 100%! It all begins with your Nervous System! Health comes from within! Victoria Tutak, D.C. Psy.D.
