Please share: Hello. It's been awhile. Lots of changes over the last few years and more to to come. When I retired from N-Cat and sold my home in Northern California I moved to Italy and bought an olive farm. Well, it's time for me to move back to California for a few reasons and I'm selling my Italian olive farm. Once I get back to Nevada County I'll be developing an olive farm with an educational bit.

I will miss this farm and Italy. If you, or know anyone who is interested in moving to Italy this is a perfect spot for a retired couple or single person. I am doing live video walkthroughs for those who can not come to visit. (I'm buying a new place in CA sight unseen, too, using videos and photos.) I'll photo and video every inch and discuss all aspects of the house so there will be no surprises. I'll also set you up with a property manager if you chose to rent it out until you're ready to move. It's fully furnished including an equipped kitchen. I'm not just 'selling' this home and farm, I'm passing it on with love.

In addition to beautiful views, the 40 olive trees produce incredible oil; the last harvest of 240 liters sold out in one week. The property also features 10 fig trees (different varieties), three kinds of pears, two types of apricots, plums, apples, plus cherries and persimmons. There are hundreds of square feet of raised garden beds, a garden shed with eight grow lights and heat pads for seed starting, water spigots throughout, and hundreds of flower bulbs plus saffron—a gardener's dream.
It's ideal for a couple or a single person wanting to move to Italy, or for someone who'd like to buy now and rent it out until they're ready to move.

The home comes fully equipped with large and small appliances, from an American refrigerator and induction range to an espresso maker, food processor, food dehydrator, and juicers—making it move-in ready.

There's an area set up for a camper or caravan with power, water, and gas hookups. You could add a caravan for extra guest accommodations, an office, craft room, or vacation rental.
If you're purchasing with renting it out in mind, I'll provide new bedding, pots/pans, dishes, and utensils, and connect you with a trusted property manager. I'm happy to do live video calls, walk the property with you, answer questions, and send photos.

My 2015 Toyota RAV4 (automatic transmission) is available for sale, too. 65k miles. (Clearly I don't drive anywhere.)

When I retired from REACH I moved to Italy and now.... Yay! Kathy's Farm in Italy website is finally published. There are a few little fixes, and lots to do still, but I'm happy with the essays. They were fun to research and write, and I learned things. I wrote a series on the olive tree and olive oil, from the history of the olive tree, my harvest, the crush, and the uses of olive oil. Spoiler: The olive tree is as old as civilization and was an integral part of its development. (The fig tree is a close second.)

And check out my Guest Chef segment. The first is with Francois de Melogue. Please read his interesting and heartfelt interview. He made a recipe with my 2024 olive oil ... all the way in Vermont. And follow the link at the bottom of his story to his professional and beautiful photographs (of three of my favorite things - New England, Autumn, and old barns.)

Hi. I know it's been ages, I've been working on projects since closing. But since this page is still up I feel the need to share this where I can.
With the currents threats against US Social Security we need to send a message to Congress to save SSI.

Social Security (SSI) is not a drain on resources unlike some businesses that rely on tax dollars for support. It is self-funded and legally cannot operate in debt. However, with a growing number of retirees, the system needs strengthening, not cuts.
One solution is to eliminate the contribution cap. Currently, individuals stop paying Social Security taxes once their income reaches $176,100. Removing this cap would generate billions of dollars for SSI over time.

By signing this petition, you'll join millions of others in sending a clear message: We can unite across political lines to protect Social Security and remember those who support it and those who oppose it.

We can't stay silent and we need to stick together. Please review this petition and if you agree say so with your signature.

Hello, Grass Valley/Nevada City and beyond. Happy December. I'm stopping by to give an update on my new project, Ugly Mandalas, for anyone interested.

I have T-shirts, greeting cards, and a few other items—for now, and I will expand from there. I'm working on a website dedicated to learning about and improving our self-esteem, self-concept, and self-image. My goal is to launch the website on January 19, 2024 (my birthday. ☺️)
