Wild Hearts Birth

Wild Hearts Birth Wild Hearts Birth provides doula services and placenta encapsulation to all mamas and growing families in Nevada and Placer county.

The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth. (DONA)

After giving birth to my daughter I was drawn to this profession and strongly feel that every women deserves a doula. I have been trained by DONA to "mother the mother" and completed an extensive apprentice program with Welcome Home Doula Services. I have knowledge and experience with home births, birth centers and hospitals, childbirth education, different stages of labor, and breastfeeding. I also offer placenta encapsulation, cord keepsakes and tinctures to help the mother recover from the strenuous act of labor. Placentophagy is known to replenish hormones and depleted iron levels, reduce post-partum bleeding and keep baby blues at bay. Consuming your placenta may also help with milk supply and energy levels. I love what I do and I would be honored to help you in any way you need.

I have done all of these things as a doula including play with siblings during labor. Please don't underestimate the power and strength of a birth team.

"These doulas are giving their clients the gift of judgment-free support."

Going to a physical therapist (PT) after pregnancy and childbirth isnโ€™t standardized care in America, but it absolutely should be.I sat down with three therapists at Body Connect Health & Wellness (where I get treatment) to learn more about why every mom should check in with a pelvic PT at

There is a phase in labor, appropriately called transition, where a woman will meet her breaking point. She'll feel as though she just can't go on, and she is right. The maiden in her is not strong enough for the task at hand. It's during this time the maiden dies so that the woman can be reborn as a mother, with her child. A new, more capable version of herself with far more strength than she has ever known. From Maiden to Mother.

You are so excited! You are pregnant and you know you want an experience different from all the stories you've heard growing up. You want a midwife. That is awesome. Knowing what kind of care provider you feel most comfortable with is undeniably the best thing going into birth for the first or fou

All post partum mama's struggle with this in some degree :( Seek out help from professionals and do your physical therapy exercises! (Im the absolute worst at this, and that is why I p*e every time I sneeze! ***TMI*** but true)

Whether you call it โ€œmummy tummy,โ€ โ€œthe pooch" or โ€œdiastasis recti,โ€ post-pregnancy abdominal separation is not just a cosmetic issue โ€” and crunches arenโ€™t the answer. But some exercises can help.

Hello little love โค๏ธ
I know these images aren't for everyone, but sometimes parents are eager and excited to see the organ that grew with and nourished their baby.

I am kid free this morning, Thanks to Jessica Mairs's very own Clara! I am sipping coffee, eating a pesto veggie bagel waiting for a placenta drop off from another midwife and then I will be delivering the placenta I encapsulated yesterday to a sweet surprised mama.

I could get used to this!!

Sometimes ultrasounds are wrong. Sometimes you think you're having a boy your entire pregnancy but when it's show time you are graced with a beautiful surprise. Sometimes you have to let go of your expectations and embrace what you are given. Sometimes, you fall head over heels in love with the beautiful baby girl you just birthed even though you were in love with the baby boy you thought you were growing. Sometimes, life is just perfect.
