Low muscle mass predicts early death. After age 40, you lose 3-5% muscle mass per decade if you do nothing to prevent it. This increases inflammation, leads to glucose and insulin issues, accelerates cognitive decline, and accelerates aging.

The solution isn’t complex: lift weights twice weekly (minimum). Your body responds at ANY age…..I had a 91 year old start slowing down last year, and he took my advice to increase protein and hired a trainer 2 days a week……he added 7 lbs of muscle by his 92nd birthday. He’s a different species!
