Huntsville Police Officer Garrett Crumby
End of Watch: March 28, 2023

We remember Officer Garrett Crumby, who served with the Huntsville Police Department for three years. Before joining HPD, he dedicated eight years to the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

On March 28, 2023, at 4:45 p.m., Officer Crumby and another officer responded to a shooting in progress call on Governors House Drive. As they attempted to make contact at the residence, gunfire erupted from inside. Officer Crumby was tragically wounded in the line of duty. Following a brief standoff, the suspect was taken into custody and charged with capital murder of a law enforcement officer.

Officer Crumby’s sacrifice will never be forgotten. His legacy of service, courage, and dedication lives on in the hearts of his fellow officers and the community he served.💙🖤
