We celebrated our generous major donors, legacy givers and philanthropic partners at our annual Donor Appreciation Dinner last week. 💚

One guest said the evening felt like a dinner party for 200 close friends — and that’s exactly what we hoped it would be. A night centered on gratitude, shared purpose and the healing power of generosity.

We were honored to recognize three remarkable examples of that generosity in action:
⭐️St. Mark's Lutheran HSV, recipient of the Outstanding Foundation Volunteer Award
⭐️Dr. Libby Shadinger, recipient of the Carl Grote, Jr., MD Outstanding Physician Award
⭐️The Huntsville Hospital Security Team, recipient of the Outstanding Employee Volunteer Award

Their leadership and service reflect philanthropy that equips, comforts, empowers and protects — strengthening care across our hospitals every single day.

A special thank you to Keel Point for sponsoring the evening and helping make this meaningful event possible.

This is more than generosity.
This is Giving That Heals.

After seven years of extraordinary service, Huntsville Hospital Foundation President Sarah Savage-Jones has announced plans to retire as President on June 30, 2026.

Under her leadership, the Foundation has grown in impact, strengthened partnerships and helped fuel transformational care across our hospitals. We are profoundly grateful for her vision, heart and servant leadership.

Sarah’s commitment to this mission is deeply personal. Her family’s own experiences within Huntsville Hospital shaped her passion for ensuring that every patient and caregiver has the support they need.

As we celebrate Sarah and all she has accomplished, we are also excited for what’s ahead. As part of a thoughtful and strategic succession plan, Amy George, our current Director of Development, will step into the President role — ensuring continuity, momentum and a strong future for our mission.

Amy is a trusted leader who is respected by our team, donors and community, and she will guide HHF into its next chapter of growth and purpose.

Please join us in thanking Sarah for her leadership and lasting impact.

February is , and we love seeing local businesses turn awareness into action. ❤️

This month, HeartBaker Bakery in Madison is giving back in the sweetest way. Their limited-time Raspberry Almond Croissant was created to help raise awareness for Congenital Heart Disease and support heart care for children in our community. 🥐

Now through the end of February, 50% of proceeds from this special pastry will be donated to Huntsville Hospital Foundation, helping ensure kids and families across North Alabama have access to world-class heart care close to home.

We’re grateful for partners like Heart Baker who use their talents to make a meaningful difference. ❤️

We are so grateful to Civitans Care for their long-standing support of our Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children Pediatric Therapy Department. 💙

Over the holiday season, we were thrilled to host the group in Pediatric Therapy's new space, and celebrate alongside the employees who see the impact of their generosity every day.

Thanks to this support, children with developmental challenges receive music therapy and essential tools that help them learn, grow and reach important milestones. We are thankful for a partnership that continues to make such a meaningful difference for kids and families in our community.

Celebrating a lasting legacy 💚 After six years of dedicated service, Planned Giving Officer Lynne Berry has retired, leaving a legacy that will impact patients and families for generations to come.

During Lynne’s tenure, Huntsville Hospital Foundation received $1.47 million in planned gifts, including a record $525,571 in realized gifts in FY25 alone.

She also welcomed 32 new members into the Heritage Society — individuals who have documented their intent to leave a lasting legacy through their generosity.

As of today, these documented planned gifts represent an estimated $12.6 million in future support for our public hospitals.

The impact of Lynne’s work will continue far into the future. We are deeply grateful for her care, leadership and commitment to helping donors turn generosity into lasting good.

Interested in leaving a legacy of your own? We invite you to connect with us to start the conversation.
