Parkinson’s disease is more than a movement disorder. It can affect speech, balance, strength and independence. At the Huntsville Hospital Parkinson’s Care Clinic, patients receive interdisciplinary care led by certified professionals who support patients through the physical, cognitive and communication challenges of Parkinson’s.

Through HHF, donors help provide programs that go beyond what insurance covers, including group exercise and voice classes that offer the ongoing support patients like Cindee need to stay active, connected and independent. We are also grateful for support from the Parkinson's Foundation, which helps make this care possible.

This Parkinson’s Awareness Month, help us sustain this care for people with Parkinson's across North Alabama.

When children experience the loss of someone they love, compassionate support can make a lasting difference.

Huntsville Hospital Foundation is grateful to The Caring Foundation of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama for helping support The Caring House, where children receive grief support as they navigate the loss of a loved one.

These services are provided free of charge so families in our community have a safe place to process grief and begin healing. 💙 We are also thankful for the continued partnership of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama through sponsorship of the Crim Swing “Fore” Children with Cancer Golf Tournament and the Huntsville Classic, helping bring our community together in support of patients and families across our hospitals.

National Doctors’ Day is March 30, and it’s one of our favorite traditions at the Foundation. It’s a special chance to celebrate the physicians who care for our families and show up when we need them most.

Many patients and families choose to mark the day by honoring a doctor who made a difference in their life or the life of someone they love.

When you make a tribute gift in honor a physician:
• Your personal note of appreciation is shared directly with the doctor
• Your gift supports the department or program you choose, helping equip caregivers and strengthen patient care

For physicians who give so much of themselves to others, a heartfelt thank you means the world! Honor your doctor by March 30 >> https://p2p.onecause.com/docday26

Today would have been Morgan “Morg” Williams’ 15th birthday.

Last year, our community came together in an incredible way to honor Morg after the Liberty Middle School student passed away from an undetected heart condition. In the midst of unimaginable loss, his parents, Stacey and Michael, chose to turn their grief into action — working to help protect other children and families from experiencing the same heartbreak.

Together, you helped raise nearly $20,000 to place 10 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across Madison County and train people to respond when seconds matter most.

Today, on Morg’s birthday, his family is once again inviting our community to celebrate his life by helping protect young hearts.

Their goal this year is to raise $15,000 to place additional AEDs and support efforts that strengthen pediatric heart health for local children and families.

It’s a simple way to turn remembrance into action, and to ensure Morg’s legacy continues to save lives.

A meaningful moment for our Canines for Coping program. 🐾 Today we unveiled the newly named Canines for Coping Play Area, honoring a generous $500,000 grant from The Hall-Halliburton Foundation.

This extraordinary gift helps sustain a program that means so much to patients, families and caregivers across our Madison County hospitals. Our specially trained facility dogs and their professional handlers provide comfort, connection and calm during some of the most difficult moments patients face — easing anxiety before procedures, supporting children during treatment and offering quiet companionship when it is needed most. 💙

Dr. Randolph B. Mahoney, president and chairman of the Florida-based Hall-Halliburton Foundation, was inspired to support the program after learning more about the important role these canine teams play across our hospitals.

We are deeply grateful for this partnership and for the opportunity to continue growing a program that brings healing, comfort and joy to so many.

🍀 Today feels like the perfect day to celebrate someone who has brought so much heart, creativity and leadership to Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

After nine incredible years with HHF, Katie Coppens is stepping into a new role as director of communications and media relations for Huntsville Hospital Health System. While we will certainly miss having her on our team, we are proud to see her continue making an impact across the health system.

Katie joined HHF in 2017 and played a transformative role in elevating how we share stories of generosity, hope and healing across our community. Her leadership helped shape the voice of the Foundation and strengthen the connections between our donors, patients and employees.

We are incredibly lucky to have worked alongside her and even luckier that she will continue to be part of the hospital family.

Please join us in wishing Katie the very best in this exciting next chapter!
