Finished up an online CEU this morning! There aren't many GIM therapists, and we tend to be located far apart from each other. So I'm glad for the chance to learn online and keep up-to-date on new developments in the field virtually!

National Social Work Day honors the compassion, advocacy, and dedication of social workers who walk alongside individuals, families, and communities through life’s hardest moments. Their work empowers people, promotes dignity, and helps create more equitable systems of care. Social workers listen without judgment, connect people to resources, and champion hope when it feels distant. Today we celebrate the impact they make every day—strengthening communities, uplifting voices, and reminding us that support and change are possible.

I'm so thankful to count social workers as my colleagues!

St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration of heritage, hope, and the joy of community. From wearing green to sharing meals, music, and laughter, the day invites us to gather and appreciate connection. Rooted in Irish tradition yet embraced worldwide, it’s a time to reflect on resilience, faith, and a little everyday magic. May today bring good cheer, meaningful moments, and perhaps a touch of luck to brighten the path ahead.

Our Story

Congratulations!

You’ve found Huntsville’s *only* music therapy mental health practice, serving the north Alabama area since 2009! I’m so glad you’re here.

At HSMT, the focus is on improving adult personal health and wellness through a variety of creative and traditional techniques. You don’t need to be a musician (or even consider yourself creative!) to benefit from the services offered here. That’s my part of the job. :-)
