Today we want to show our appreciation to David and Debra Clackum, members of East Cobb Church of Christ and monthly supports of His Way Atlanta.

We are thankful for all financial gifts, but there's something special about our monthly donors. Consistent, monthly giving creates predictable income that helps with our monthly bills for food and transportation.

Monthly giving also engages supporters on a deeper level. When you give monthly and write that check or see that monthly debit come out of our account, you are reminded of our mission and your role in continuing this important work.

We hope also this commemorative Give-A-Way coin, which we are giving to all of our monthly donors, will also serve as a reminder that His Way is changing lives, and our donors play a major role!

Are you ready to connect with His Way Atlanta with a monthly gift? Learn more about the needs and see more donor stories here ➡️ https://hiswayatlanta.org/give-a-way/

We said goodbye to one of our beloved His Way pets this week.

Bella joined the His Way Recovery Center family on July 16, 2015, thanks to the Smothers family.

From the moment she arrived, she made this place brighter. Since she came into our lives, she brought fun times, smiles, doggy counseling sessions, and countless moments of comfort to our staff and especially to our residents.

Bella had an incredible way of sensing when someone needed encouragement, and she gave it freely — with a nudge, a tail wag, or by simply sitting close.

She was probably the most pampered dog in the world, and honestly, she deserved every bit of it. She loved tug‑of‑war, chasing balls, and her favorite treats: pig ears ... and coffee.

On July 8, 2025, Bella was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma cancer. The veterinarian told us she might have only 2–3 months left. But Bella was a fighter — strong, stubborn, and full of heart. She stayed with us eight more months, giving us more time, more memories, and more love than anyone expected.

This past week, she took a sudden turn for the worse, and it broke our hearts. We didn’t want her to suffer, so we made the painful decision o say goodbye on March 23, 2026.

Bella will be laid to rest next to the His Way pavilion — the place where she spent most of her days playing, sleeping, and bringing joy to everyone around her.

She will be missed by all who met her and missed most of all by Darryl; she was his “Baby Girl.” 🐾❤️

Give-A-Way donors come in all shapes and sizes. Today we recognize a sweet young couple married 5 years and expecting their first child this summer. Jake (pictured) and Claire Dahm both served in high school and college ministries as students and have continued to "give a way" as a young family.

Our mission to provide Christ-centered recovery for men across the Greater Atlanta area relies heavily on the generosity of individuals, churches, and community partners.

Many of you reading this post are part of that story. You give your time, your resources, your prayers, and because you give, lives are being transformed.

With that in mind, we are honored to introduce something special at our upcoming fundraising dinner:

Give-A-Way.

Give-A-Way is both a celebration and a calling. It recognizes the generous donors who make His Way Atlanta possible, and it invites others to step into that same life-changing impact. This campaign is a heartfelt call to action for financial support that directly changes the lives of men battling addiction.

Throughout the Give-A-Way campaign, we will share powerful video stories from donors explaining why they “give a way.” The first video will premiere at the dinner, with many more inspiring stories to follow in the months ahead.

Give-A-Way donors receive a special "Give-A-Way" coin as a token of our appreciation and a reminder of the impact your gift is making in the lives of real people with real struggles.

We recently presented a Give-A-Way coin to His Way Atlanta supporters Tim and Sherry Binkley, members at East Cobb Church of Christ. They are big supporters of what God is doing in the lives of men at His Way and a great encouragement to our His Way board, staff and residents.

We invite you to join us Saturday, March 21st, to hear more Give-A-Way stories as we officially kick off this important campaign.

In Bible times, chariots and horses were symbols of military power. If you had a strong army with horses and chariots, you were seen as powerful and protected. Trusting in chariots and horses meant relying on your own power and resources, not God's.

Today's "chariots and horses" might look like relying on success, bank balances, careers, or technology, when what we really need to trust is God. His name. His character. His power. His strength.

The verse reminds us that while the things of this world may seem strong, they are temporary and limited, unlike God, who is everlasting and almighty.

Tom, Josh, Aaron and Darryl are in Montgomery today for Alabama Recovery Advocacy Day, an annual event that brings together recovery organizations like His Way to connect with and learn from each other.

Recovery organizations from across Alabama come together with state agency leaders and legislators to celebrate stories of life change and explore ways to work together to help more people find long term recovery!

The guys shared info about His Way programs and really enjoyed the photo ops!
