Better late than never! We’ve grown so much and so fast we realized we never made an official post to welcome Katy Reece, CRNP — even though she’s been taking great care of our patients since March! Katy enjoys building relationships with families, caring for children of all ages, and supporting new parents as they gain confidence in caring for their newborns.

If you’ve already met her, you know how wonderful she is. If you haven’t yet, you’re in for a treat.

🍂 Fall brings cooler weather, colorful leaves, and the start of RSV and flu season.

At Rocket City Pediatrics, we have Beyfortus available to help protect kids (especially infants under 8 months old) during RSV season. Getting it now, before RSV activity peaks, helps provide the best protection through the months ahead.

We also have flu vaccines available for kiddos who want to stay ahead this season.

I’ve got measles vaccines if anyone wants one. Especially my vaccine hesitant population.

75% of the time you’re probably fine.
25% of the time you’re probably not (can cause death and other bad stuff).

Make sure you put good nutrition in your bodies (that should be primary).
The measles vaccine is pretty darn safe and pretty darn effective (should be secondary).

The combo of the two above reduce measles morbidity/mortality risk as close to zero as can be reasonably expected.

Periodic update! Y’all know I think social media rots the brain so I try to stay away

1) I am looking for a new provider to join my team! Interested Pediatric Nurse Practitioners or Pediatric Physicians should hit us up at 256-945-7266

2) I need a scribe to disconnect me from the computer. Job posting can be found on ziprecruiter and indeed.

3) I’d like to consider hybrid/alternatives to the standard insurance model. If anyone else is tired of insurance and wants to work with me to cut out the middle man please call the office a leave info with the staff! I’d love to consider a monthly subscription model.

4) I’m really appreciative for the community support that’s helped me launch my practice… including all of the love and trust parents have offered me as we get started. I am not perfect, but grind daily to continually improve my practice of medicine and my ability to help parents raise healthy kids.
