BONES
Hi everyone,
“Your bones are weak—you shouldn’t run.”
That’s something I was told in my 40s. I was even advised not to walk more than a mile at a 20-minute pace.
I remember leaving that appointment in tears. At the time, I was an active runner, swimmer, and triathlete—and being told to stop moving felt devastating.
But I didn’t accept that as the final answer.
I found another doctor, got more information, and learned that while my bone density was low, it wasn’t a life sentence. It was something I could work on.
Now at 57, I hear similar concerns almost every day—from both women and men:
“My bones are weak.”
“I don’t know what I should be doing.”
Here’s what I’ve learned along the way:
We are not powerless when it comes to our bone health.
We already know the basics matter—movement, strength training, and staying active. But I wanted to go further. That’s a big part of why I started Swift Recovery—to offer additional ways to support our bodies as we age.
Here are a few tools we use that can help support bone health:
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy)
Supports your body at the cellular level.
Encourages bone-building cell activity
May help improve bone density over time
Increases circulation to nourish bone tissue
Supports recovery and healing
Power Plate (Whole Body Vibration Training)
A simple, low-impact way to stimulate bones and muscles.
Helps encourage bone growth through gentle vibration
Builds muscle strength to support your frame
Improves balance and coordination (which helps prevent falls)
Supports maintaining bone density as we age
Red Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation)
Helps your body function and recover more efficiently.
Supports cellular energy and repair
May aid in bone healing and regeneration
Reduces inflammation
Promotes overall recovery
Why this matters
We joke about shrinking as we get older—but maintaining bone strength is serious. It’s about staying independent, staying active, and continuing to do what we love.
This isn’t just for women.
This is for all of us.
If there’s one thing I hope you take away from my story, it’s this:
Don’t stop moving. Don’t stop asking questions. And don’t assume one opinion defines your future.
We have more control than we think.
If you’re curious about any of these therapies or want to learn more, I’m always happy to talk.
Stay strong,
Suzanne
