The Veterans Crisis Line's new number—988 then Press 1—helps make it easier to remember and share the number to access help in times of need. Learn more: https://www.veteranscrisisline.net/

The su***de hotline can now be reached by dialing 988. This new, shorter phone number will make it easier for people to remember and access mental health crisis services.

If you or anyone you know is in need of support, please call or text 988 to reach trained counselors who can help people cope with a mental health emergency and direct folks to additional resources for both mental health and substance abuse treatment.

United Spinal Association is gearing up for the Roll on Capitol Hill, their signature policy event that supports priorities and ensures that legislators include people with in policy debates on Capitol Hill.

A key priority is supporting legislation that would lessen the financial burden of eligible disabled when replacing their vehicles.

Beginning January 1, 2023, Veterans Affairs Life Insurance program will provide guaranteed acceptance whole life coverage of up to $40,000 to , age 80 and under, with service-connected disabilities with no medical underwriting and no time limit to apply.

“I had tried every VA program and contact – and I know how to do it – plus AmVets and was getting nothing. In a very short time, this person with VetsFirst got everything done. I was shocked – why is United Spinal doing this when I’m not even a person with a spinal cord injury or the family member of someone with one," says Tina Walker about her experience with VetsFirst.

"In about two and half days, Ms. Golden did what no one else could or would in almost 2 years. This was because she listened to what I was trying to say and she cared.”

Tina contacted the VA but was hitting a brick wall. Then she learned about VetsFirst, a service of the United Spinal Association.
