NEXT WEEK (5/3, 5/4, 5/5)- WVLT John Pirsos TV will be debuting a multi-episode series on NPG, highlighting local schools and clubs. Check your schedules!

We're also excited to provide concussion care for FC Alliance. We'll be registering, and baseline concussion testing on the practice fields at Mayor Bob Leonard Park all next week. If you're interested in seeing what we're all about - come check us out!

For us at NPG, the movement to change the way the sports world takes care of the brain is personal... One of our founders, Mark Hilinski was recently featured in a Sports Illustrated article, describing their difficult journey following the death of their son Tyler by su***de in 2018. Ever since that moment, Mark has worked tirelessly through the non-profit Hilinski's Hope to destigmatize mental health among student athletes, and to raise awareness for the strong links between concussions and poor mental health.

For the team at NPG, this is a driving force for why we want to change the game when it comes to concussion care. NPG is glad to see that concussions are receiving the seriousness they deserve at the World Cup in Qatar. Check out what this article says about the difficulties of determining whether or not a player should return to the game after a head injury:

"Symptoms of concussions include headaches, dizziness or general confusion and can take hours or days to appear. This places pressure on the medical staff, who have to decide whether to remove a player who has suffered a collision even if the player appears fine."

This is why it's imperative that concussion protocols include more OBJECTIVE data in their testing. And this is what NPG exists for... to bring objectivity into caring for the athlete's brain through the latest technologies.
