The Tennessee Memory Disorder Foundation is proud to highlight Amber Tayman, BSN, MSN, MPH, for her leadership in developing a new Continuing Medical Education (CME) course designed to strengthen early detection and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias across the state.
This initiative is part of the Tennessee Dementia Action Collaborative (TDAC) and supports Goal 3 of the State Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias Plan to ensure an adequately prepared healthcare workforce. Through this collaboration, TMDF and TDAC are working to expand dementia education, training, and resources for healthcare professionals statewide.
Last week, Dr. Monica K. Crane completed filming for the course, which will be offered free of charge to clinicians throughout Tennessee to remove barriers to education and access.
With over 129,000 Tennesseans aged 65 and older living with Alzheimer’s disease, initiatives like this are essential in equipping clinicians to recognize cognitive changes early and connect patients to the right care.
We’re grateful for Amber’s dedication, Dr. Crane’s expertise, and the contributions of our Public Health Intern in making this project possible — all working together to advance dementia education and care in our state.
