There are no preconditions or flexibility levels you need in order to find joy and fulfillment in your practice – yoga isn’t just a luxury, it’s a right to your well-being! We are all beautifully unique, as should be our own personal practice – at Blue Ridge Yoga, all classes are taught to accommodate each student. As a community, we believe in encouraging wellness by teaching ways to modify individual practice in order to suit your needs and work at any comfort level each time we come to our mat. Our classes will explore balance, strength, awareness, flexibility, relaxation, and meditation using the breath as a guide – each meeting is an opportunity to explore and come to a better understanding of your own body and mind. Our diverse range of teachers hail from a variety of yogic influences and traditions, creating a deep pool of knowledge and spirit within our studio. We look forward to the gifts you will bring to our community so we can all enjoy the journey to more joy, more light, and more love in our lives!

It’s Margaret’s birthday 🎂

She is sunshine in human form! ☀️ She has this way of making you feel instantly okay. Like you don’t have to be bendy. Or flexible. Or have your life together. You can just show up!

Her classes are thoughtful but never stuffy. And every once in a while, she’ll surprise you with a theme that is out of this world.

And let’s talk about the Sound Bath she added to Deep Stretch?! The way she understands sound and how it settles your nervous system… you can literally feel your shoulders drop. Do yourself a huge favor and come check out that class in the evenings.

Also… trumpet in the Virginia Tech marching band? Professional disc golfer? Organizing a 45-person weekly doubles league? A momma to two beautiful kiddos. She does it all.

Margaret, we love your creativity and how deeply you care about people. The studio would not be the same without you. Have the best day!

This is Deb, walking back into her FIRST yoga class post-surgery. 💪

Her doctors were blown away by the strength and flexibility she has gained — all those yoga flows and weightlifting classes? They paid off. Big time.

Our Plant Care 101 + Rooted Restorative workshop was full of so much plant wisdom. Margaret and Jessica B. kept it real with easy tips, zero judgment, and lots of “ohhh THAT’S why mine died” moments.

Then we eased into deep rest mode, because turns out… nurturing your plants and nurturing yourself go hand in hand.

Introducing The Art of Touch: A Workshop in Connection & Care is a quiet space to slow down and reconnect through simple, respectful gestures like hand-holding, supportive hugs, and calming touch. These small moments can help the body soften and the mind settle, reminding us how grounding safe connection can be.

Jane Sarphie, who will facilitate, has a natural way of helping people feel comfortable and at ease. She holds the space with warmth and attentiveness, allowing everyone to simply arrive as they are and receive what they need.
