Employee Spotlight: Kim White
For the past five years, Kim White has been a steady, compassionate presence at Mynatt Funeral Home’s Fountain City location. As Office Administrator, she keeps the office running smoothly each day: managing billing, probates, and collections; filing insurance; ordering supplies; and serving as back-up to the Office Manager.
Kim brings a strong administrative background to her role. Before joining Mynatt, she spent nine years with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and also worked with the Regional County Medical Examiner’s Office. That experience, along with her family’s long relationship with Mynatt and growing up “in the business,” made funeral service a natural and meaningful transition.
What Kim loves most is “sharing hope and helping families with their financial needs.” She’s the first to admit that navigating insurance can be challenging, but it has taught her patience and reinforced her commitment to serving families well. One contribution she’s especially proud of is helping qualifying families obtain FEMA funeral assistance reimbursements, support that can make a real difference during a difficult time.
Kim believes Mynatt’s success comes from always putting families first. She’s seen it personally, after her brother passed 41 years ago, and she witnesses it daily in the care shown to every family who walks through the door.
Outside of work, Kim is a talented artist who began painting in 2020 and now teaches monthly classes that support Grief Recovery at Mynatt. She cherishes time with her seven grandchildren. She’s also a published children’s author with twenty books released, has illustrated a friend’s book, serves as a puppeteer in her church’s Children’s Ministry, and gives back by teaching female inmates once a month.
We’re grateful for Kim’s heart for service, her professionalism, and the hope she brings to our families and community.
