🚨 IMPORTANT

Tennessee leaders are raising serious concerns after Gov. Bill Lee rejected the Summer EBT program for the second year in a row, cutting off critical food assistance for nearly 700,000 food-insecure children across our state.

This is an $80 million federally funded program — at no cost to Tennessee taxpayers.

Nearly 1 in 5 Tennessee children face food insecurity.

Last year’s state replacement program reached only 2% of eligible children.
The deadline to act is February 15.

📞 Please call Gov. Lee’s office today at (615) 741-2001 and urge him to restore the Summer EBT program for Tennessee families.

Our children cannot afford delays.

There is a fierce urgency of now.

❤️ Clinic Recap: Love Your Heart Month ❤️
Today at our Weekly Free Medical Clinic (held every Monday), we began celebrating the month of Love by focusing on the importance of caring for your heart.

Participants received a heart health workshop highlighting simple but powerful ways to protect and strengthen your heart:

1️⃣ Exercise & Movement – Stay active daily, even small steps make a big difference.
2️⃣ Eat Healthy Foods – Choose fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and heart-friendly meals.
3️⃣ Practice Self-Care & Reduce Stress – Protect your peace and prioritize your well-being.

We also demonstrated healthy meal options, including fresh salads packed with vegetables and delicious baked chicken prepared with care. ❤️🥗

Heart health is more than a conversation — it’s a lifestyle. We are committed to educating and empowering our community through preventive health at every clinic.

New Direction Health Care Solutions was honored to provide vital Heart Health Information at the Knoxville District AME Zion Missionary Meeting!

We were blessed to welcome the new Presiding Elder, Rev. Barbara Haigler, who was on site to meet with the Missionary Department and share in this impactful gathering.

Our very own Sister Cynthia J. Finch, Executive Director of New Direction, provided an informative overview on the importance of heart health—reminding us that awareness, prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices save lives.

To close with inspiration, Dr. Kim Brooks delivered a powerful message on ❤️ Love—because caring for your heart is not only physical, it’s spiritual and emotional too.

Together, we continue to uplift our community through faith, education, and preventive health.

The Free Medical Clinic truly embodied Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of “being of service to others.”

On January 19, 2026, several organizations came together to support the clinic’s community feeding, showing the power of collaboration and compassion.

We are grateful for the support of AME Zion District Missionary, CAC, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Pi Zeta Omega Chapter, United Methodist Church – Lennon Senney, and our dedicated volunteers.

A special thank you to Food Rescue Initiative through Bridges Center for providing fresh bagels that made the day even brighter.

🩺 Flu Season Reminder | All Things Preventive Health 🧼
On Monday at the Free Medical Clinic, an important service was provided by Cynthia J. Finch, who led a hands-on demonstration on proper hand-washing techniques. With flu season here and cases on the rise, it’s more important than ever that we all do our part to stay safe and healthy.
Guests also enjoyed a hearty, nourishing meal—because good health starts with prevention and proper nutrition.

This past Monday, December 29, during our free weekly medical clinic, we were blessed to host a special Holiday Lunch for our community at the East Knoxville Free Medical Clinic.
