There are two elements that comprise platelet rich plasma: the liquid portion of your blood and platelets, which play an important role in healing throughout your entire body. Although platelets are mostly known for their ability to clot, they also contain growth factors that can stimulate tissue regeneration and cell production. Platelet rich plasma is a type of blood that contains more platelets than normal.
To create platelet rich plasma, we take a blood sample and then place it in a centrifuge. This device spins the sample at a rapid pace and separates the other parts of the blood from the platelets. These platelets are then concentrated within the plasma.
Once we have created the platelet rich plasma from the blood sample, we can then inject it into a target area.
