Most people think their toxic load comes from one big exposure.

In reality, it’s what you use every single day.

Start here:

💄 Lip products →
Anything on your lips gets ingested. Reapplied daily, this can become a high source of fragrance, dyes, and heavy metals.

🧺 Laundry detergent →
Your clothes and sheets sit on your skin all day and night. Many detergents leave behind residues that stay on fabric and absorb into the body.

🌿 Deodorant →
Used daily on one of the most absorbent areas of the body, often with fragrance and preservatives.

These aren’t fringe swaps.
They are foundational.

Clean up these three, and you’ve already lowered your daily toxic load in a meaningful way.If you’re ready to make these changes easier, you can find all of our favorite swaps linked in our shop.

Laundry is one of the biggest hidden sources of toxic exposure in the home — and labels make it confusing on purpose.

A few things most people aren’t told:

🧺 “Fragrance” can hide hundreds of undisclosed chemicals. If the scent lingers, that’s residue — not clean.
✨ Optical brighteners don’t clean. They coat fabric and sit against your skin.
🌱 “Plant-based” isn’t regulated and doesn’t mean non-toxic.

This is why we don’t teach one-off swaps.
We teach understanding.

Laundry is one of the biggest hidden sources of toxic exposure in the home, especially for moms who are trying to do the right thing and still feeling confused by labels.

Here’s what most people aren’t told:

🧺 Fragrance →
This single word can legally hide hundreds of undisclosed chemicals. Brands aren’t required to list what’s inside, and many of those ingredients are known to disrupt hormones, trigger headaches, and irritate growing lungs. If the scent lingers for days, that’s not a sign of clean.

✨ Optical brighteners →
These don’t actually clean your clothes. They coat fabrics to make them look whiter by reflecting light. That residue stays on clothing, pajamas, towels, and sheets and sits directly against your skin.

🌱 “Plant based” →
This sounds reassuring, but it isn’t regulated. A product can include a small plant derived ingredient and still contain harsh surfactants, preservatives, and synthetic fragrance.

This is why we don’t teach one off swaps. We teach understanding.

Our Toxic Reset Program helps you lower your family’s toxic load step by step, without fear or overwhelm, and with clear guidance you can trust.

Holiday cookies are my favorite, and these Valentine’s sugar cookies are at the top of the list. I’m always on a mission to make the best gluten free version and I take it seriously. Like, serve them to non gluten free friends and wait for the reaction before mentioning it.

These are soft, buttery, and ridiculously good. I recommend doubling the recipe because they disappear fast. You can always freeze the extras if they last that long.

Simple heart shapes, classic Valentine colors, and zero compromise on flavor.
Full recipe is on the blog.

Hot take: estrogen isn’t the whole menopause story.

If it were, HRT would fix everything.

But a lot of women start hormones… and still deal with:
• anxiety
• insomnia
• weight gain
• hot flashes
• exhaustion

—or symptoms even get worse.

Here’s why no one talks about:

👉 During perimenopause, your adrenals have to pick up the hormonal slack.

And most women hit this phase already running on:
• chronic stress
• under-eating
• caffeine
• poor sleep
• overtraining

So when your body asks the adrenals to do more… they’re already maxed out.

Meaning:
You can’t stabilize hormones if your stress response + blood sugar + cortisol rhythms are a mess.

This is why in my practice, we regulate before we replace.

And when we fix the foundation, symptoms often calm down — with or without hormones.

Save this — next I’ll explain why hot flashes aren’t just about low estrogen either.

You all had so many questions about scalp health, so let’s clear something up…

If your hair is greasy again 24 hours after washing, your scalp is flaky, itchy, or constantly irritated…

It’s usually not a shampoo problem.

Most scalp issues I see connect back to gut imbalances, yeast overgrowth, inflammation, blood sugar swings, stress, or hormone shifts driving excess oil production.

So people keep switching products…
washing more often…
trying scalp treatments…

…but the issue keeps coming back because the root cause was never addressed.

Yes, products matter (and I shared my full routine in this post), but scalp healing usually starts internally.

And once you fix the root, things finally calm down.

If this sounds like you, comment SCALP and I’ll send you where to start + the products I personally use.

Save this for later if scalp issues keep coming back.

If midlife feels harder than it used to, I want you to hear this clearly:
you are not broken.

What most women experience in their late 30s, 40s, and early 50s isn’t a sudden failure of the body. It’s a shift in how much the body can compensate.

For decades, we can “get away with” poor sleep, under-eating, chronic stress, blood sugar swings, inflammation, and environmental exposures. When hormones begin to fluctuate in perimenopause, that margin shrinks. Symptoms don’t appear because something suddenly went wrong; they appear because the body has less flexibility than it once did.

Perimenopause and menopause are not just labels. They are different endocrine states that require different support. In perimenopause, progesterone is often the first hormone to decline while estrogen continues to fluctuate, sometimes remaining relatively high. In menopause, estrogen production shifts outside the ovaries and the body adapts in protective ways that are often misunderstood and mismanaged.

This is why doing what worked in your 20s and 30s often backfires. It’s also why restriction, over-exercise, and “pushing through” tend to worsen symptoms rather than resolve them.

Midlife isn’t about fighting your body.
It’s about understanding what it’s asking for.

This is Part 1 of a series where I’ll walk through what’s actually happening physiologically, why symptoms show up, and how we support the body without fear or overwhelm.

Galentine’s Day will always be one of our favorite little holidays.

Not because it’s extra or overdone, but because it’s about celebrating the women who show up. The ones who text first. The ones who bring snacks. The ones who hold it together and still make time for friendship.

This year our Galentine’s Day Gift Guide is filled with clean, thoughtful favorites that actually get used. Skincare staples, cozy self-care, wellness essentials, and small indulgences that feel good to give and even better to receive.

Everything in the guide is non-toxic, intentionally chosen, and designed to fit into real-life routines. No hidden ingredients. No junk. Just simple upgrades that say, I care about you and your health.

If you want the guide, comment GALENTINE and we’ll send it straight to you.
